You moaned when you heard your one month year old baby girl start crying again, her walks echoing throughout the room. You kept pushing for moving her to the nursery but she's a fussy sleeper and it's easier for you to calm her down when she's in the same room as you.

"H-Honey check on her..." You said hoarsely while turning to your other side to untangle yourself from your husband's cosy hold.

He rubbed his eyes and sat up on the bed after a moment, while you tried to go back to sleep.

"[y/d/n], sweetheart, mummy and daddy are here. Time to go to sleep, love," You heard James speak raspily. You both have noticed that the reminder of you being in the same room helps to calm your girl down sometimes.

But her crying persisted and James gathered his energy to get out of bed. You watched his every move with one eye open, spying on him as his daddy instincts kicked in.

"Hi baby, what's the matter?" He whispered with a smile and picked his daughter up, cuddling her in his arms.

"Shhh," He mumbled in her ear while She wrapped her hand around his index finger, "Mummy is very tired and it would be lovely if you sleep now sweetheart."

You smiled softly, your face hidden under the covers. When the room fell silent, with the distant hum of the air conditioning filling in the quiet, James walked back to bed and almost fell on it.

He crawled closer to you and spooned you in his arms, kissing your neck. You hugged onto his arm then shut your eyes. "I think she'll be a quiet girl now," He said airily and you hoped for it.

You have been going through some 'baby blues', and you're not feeling that great. What's worse is that it is affecting your sleep and you are unable to do anything during the day because you're so tired.

But a silent room is too much to ask for right?

Your daughter started to cry again, louder than before, and you rubbed your face. You sat up suddenly and started to get out of bed but James pulled your arm to force you to lay down again.

"I'm coming love," He calls out to his baby then got our of bed again, sluggishly making his way to the crib and patting her chest softly.

He started to sing something after picking her up and placing her against his chest. While it did work on your daughter, his voice slowly lulled you to sleep.

He swayed her from to side and waited a good nearly ten minutes before putting her back in her crib. He stood there, looking over her for a moment the taking a deep breath and laying down on the bed.

"[y/n/n]?" He mumbled to see if you're still awake and you turned to your other side to face him.

"I think she'll sleep now for the rest of the night," He told you quietly, "Hopefully."

He lay down closer to you, a short distance between your faces. "I have an idea," You said and he nodded his head, "You take the night shift while we're trying to sleep and I'll do the day. Deal?"

"Deal," He shook your hand and you chuckled, "Anything for you sugar."
