She came running to the kitchen and immediately wrapped her arms around his upper legs, making him gasp in surprise.

"THANK YOU!" She squealed with excitement and James laughed.

"For what?" He asked and she rolled her eyes playfully.

"For the present daddy!" She told and he looked to you with an eyebrow raised. You mouthed the words 'playdough' and he smiled with realisation.

"Ohh, of course, sweetheart, you're most welcome!" He shrugged his shoulders and bit his lip, making you chuckle.

The five-year-old ran off to her playroom and James walked over to you, leaning on the kitchen island and watching you bend down to place a tray of mini meat pies in the oven.

"So what's this playdough thing?" He asked while staring at the meat pies with hunger.

"You bought it for her remember, around last month? You told me to give it to her when her holidays started," You scooped a little sauce on a spoon and leaned over to him, "Try this."

You fed him the sauce and he licked his lips, squinting one eye while judging the taste. "Mhmm it's good, what did you-Wait, the big set?" He questioned and you furrowed your brows.

"What big set?"

"NO, it is, isn't it?!"

"James, what are you saying?" You laughed and he stood up and rushed to the kitchen exit.

"I remember now, it's the big set with the twenty different colours and the cutters and the... Why didn't you tell?" He grinned widely, "I wanted to play with it too!"

You giggled as you watched him leave the room. "He's such a goofball," You mumbled then called out, "Lunch is ready in a half hour!"

James knocked on her playroom door then leaned on it with his eyebrows raised. "Mind if I join love?" He asked softly and she nodded her head quickly.

"Daddy this set is so cool! Let me show you!"

You sat up in your seat on the couch and looked at the clock hanging on the wall on top of the television. Almost forty-five minutes had passed since James had disappeared to spend time with play dough.

You huffed then you got up and walked over to your daughter's playroom. "Sweethearts, what are you-"

You stopped when you found an entire mini-city made of playdough around the room. There were buildings, trees, cars and even a few people, all made of play dough. There was even an interesting looking monument in the middle, acting as a roundabout. There was a tall snd colourful spiral statue slightly leaning to the side.

You smiled widely, it looked pretty good in fact. You stepped inside the room and sat on the ground with your legs crossed. "What's this city called?" You asked and your daughter moved closer to you.

James looked at her for an answer and she bit her lip. "Um... Clayville?" She suggested and you smiled.

"That sounds fun!" You responded, "Wait is that... That's me!" You looked at the three playdough-people standing in a group in the middle of a city next to a small red car.

"Yes, that's mommy and daddy and me!" She picked up the mini figurine that resembled you and walked over to your side. You held it in your hands and stared at its features. Eerily, it did look quite like yourself.

"Look, daddy, I'm made of clay!" You told James, who laughed whole-heartedly.

Lunch had completely slipped out of your mind. You had started playing with them, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. There was a fire in the city and your daughter was the best firefighter in the entire department. You had been making cupcakes but forgot about them when you went to watch your favourite TV show. James played the police officer, you smiled at him throughout the mini-game.

"So [y/d/n], you want to be a firefighter  when you grow up?" You asked as you fixed your play-dough-version's hair.

"Yes mommy, I want to be someone who saves people, like a real-life superhero," She replied, "Firefighters save people all the time and I want to do the same thing!"

"That's very thoughtful of you, love," James commented and glanced at you, "What about doing what daddy does?"

"Do you save people?"

He chuckled, "Well... I can play and be whoever I want to, even a superhero. Maybe even a firefighter superhero!"

"Really?!"

"Yeah, but somebody needs to write the script for it, the story," He added and he winked at you.

"Then I want to be an actor like you daddy!" She ran to her father and wrapped her hands around his neck. He laughed and squeezed her tight, kissing her cheek before letting out a very childish scream.

"Help me! My cat is stuck in that tree firefighter [y/d/n]" He said and she giggled with excitement.

"I'm coming Mr Daddy! Firefighter [y/d/n] will save you!" She ran to the other side of the city and grabbed the fire engine.

You smiled softly then got up. "Make sure you come for lunch after you save Mr Daddy's cat huh?" You requested and the two of them nodded their heads happily.
