James watched the parents and students walk down the corridor into separate classrooms as he sat on a chair outside his daughter's class teacher.

"Are you nervous?" He asks his ten-year-old daughter who laughs and slaps his arm playfully.

"Of course not!  I do very well at school," She responded and he slung an arm around her shoulder and side-hugged her.

"That's my girl," He chuckled.

He looked through the pamphlet he was given at the school entrance, indicating where each teacher from the various faculties was located for this parent-teacher meeting. He took a deep breath and tapped his shoe on the floor. He had been waiting for around twenty-five minutes and the visitors inside the classroom has been taking so long.

"James?"

He looked to his left and saw a man walk over with a girl of the same age as [y/d/n]. James stood up and smiled at him, recognising that he's the father of one of your daughter's best friends.

"Hey Lawrence, how are you doing?" He asked and the man nodded his head with a smile on his lips.

"Good! Have you met the form tutor yet?"Lawrence questioned and James shook his head, "You know Tabitha here is doing so well in math, her teacher has suggested that she takes part in the Math Olympian next year."

He shook his head with a smile and with a feeling of impressed. "That next year and this year scoring the home run for the girl's baseball team," Lawrence brought his daughter closer to his side, "Is there nothing my Tabitha can't do?"

James forces a smile on his face then verbally appreciates Tabitha's talent. He was definitely happy about how involved the young girl is within the school year but clearly, her father was bragging unnecessarily.

James squints his eyes slightly, "Well you know, [y/d/n] has been busy working with the Pay It Forward and helping the community by doing community service and holding charity drives."

James felt up in his game. He was about to out-win Lawrence in an unofficial game of 'who's daughter is making a difference?'. He further said, "She's making her mom and me so proud. She has to-"

Your daughter tugged on his jacket and pointed to the classroom, and the parents that were exiting, "Dad it's our turn now."

James frowned slightly. "Well I'll see you around James, and great work [y/d/n] with helping the town!" Lawrence said and walked away, while James stared at him with an eyebrow raised. He was extremely proud of his daughter and he wanted everyone to know how brilliant she is.

He stepped into the classroom and found Mrs. Roxanne sitting at her desk, looking through a student's file. She looked up when she heard James and your daughter enter, and smiled widely.

"[y/d/n], James!" She greeted and stood up. James walked over and shook her hand.

"Hope all is well Roxanne," He said happily and she nodded her head, "So how is [y/d/n] doing?"

He took a seat in front of the desk as Mrs Roxanne sat back down. [y/d/n] sat next to him.

"She's doing great! She's a lovely student, I immensely enjoy having her in class," Mrs Roxanne compliments, "She always asks intelligent questions that are far above the class level. It really shows her rational thinking and logic and clearly, she motivates others to challenge themselves as well."

Jame smiled proudly, looking at his daughter with raised eyebrows.

Ha, if only Lawrence could hear this, He thought.

Mrs Roxanne asked your daughter a few questions about any doubts she may have about the curriculum then started to write some notes that she can work on over the holidays.

"You know, [y/d/n] is part of the Pay It Forward program for the community," James informed, making [y/d/n] roll her eyes discreetly.

"Yes I know, I've seen her at events and fundraisers," She reacts, "[y/d/n] is an advocate for environmental, animal and property care-"

"She's going to be giving a speech next week at the town fair," James further added and Mrs Roxanne nodded her head.

"Yes I am aware, we actually need to meet the day after tomorrow to practice and go over the speech," She told and smiled, "I'm on of the co-organisers for the event."

James froze a little, feeling a little embarrassed at his attitude. [y/d/n]'s teacher probably knows more about the Pay It Forward organisation and what [y/d/n] does in partnership with it than James.

"Well... That's g-great," James tried to save his dignity, "We will definitely see you there then."

She smiled and agreed then looked at your daughter, who was giggling.

"You know daddy kept talking on an on to Tabitha's dad too!" [y/d/n] told you on the phone as James and she walked to the car after the parent-teacher meeting. James eyed her and sighed, aking her life lightly.

"Alright bye mummy! See you at home," Your daughter ended the call and gave the phone back to her father, "You know daddy, you don't have to make other people jealous about me." She looked at him with mischief and he frowned.

"I just want everyone to know that your mother and I are extremely proud of you and wouldn't change a thing about you," James explained seriously and she side-hugged him.

"Dad as long as I know that you're proud of mee, doesn't everything else not matter?" She questioned and he thought for a moment.

She has a point, He thought then smirked.

"Alright smarty pants," He pushed her forward playfully towards the car, "Get your butt in there! We're getting a dinner treat for your amazing school performance."
