🐍"SOMEONE TRASHED my dad's murder board," Kevin relayed to Betty and Carmen, partially distressed. This raised alarm for the young Murdock. If a person in Riverdale would risk breaking into the Sheriff's own home just to destroy a murder board to connect the investigation on Jason Blossom, then maybe she had truly underestimated this town.
"Any leads on who did that? Or what they were looking for?" Carmen leaned closer, a concerned look in her eyes.
Kevin never showed to have an affirmative response. "Nope. No fingerprints,"
"Damn, and here I thought all I'd have to worry about was school."
"But they stole a bunch of files, background checks, and all the videos and audiotapes of police interviews,"
The door opens, distracting them from the conversation. "Hey, Betty,"
Betty walks away from her two friends, plastering a smile on her face as she stands a few feet from the boy. "Trev, hi!"
"Sorry to interrupt—"
"Oh no, uh, it's okay. We're just, uh, working on—"
"Our murder board." Carmen finished. She perched herself at the edge of the table, crossing her arms as she stared at him blankly. Hearing Betty become a stuttering mess was even a new thing for her.
Trev, clearly uncomfortable, broke Carmen's gaze and turned back to Betty. "Well I just wanted to make sure if we're still on for tomorrow?"
"Absolutely. It's a date," Kevin let out a choked noise at that, making Betty flush. "I—I mean, I'll see you there."
Trev all but flashed her an award-winning smile, closing the door softly.
"Going out on a date with Trev? Does Mama Cooper know about that?" Kevin raised an eyebrow at Betty, leaning his shoulder against Carmen's.
"Kev, I'm not in house arrest." At that, both Carmen and Kevin gave her a look that basically said that they didn't believe her, and Betty felt as if she was in an actual interrogation room.
Betty sighed in defeat, "Okay, she's out of town at a Women in journalism spa retreat. Anyway, it's not a date date."
Carmen pinched the bridge of her nose. "You just called it a date."
"You literally said, 'It's a date.'" Kevin said bluntly.
Betty looked at the two exasperatedly, "What is this, good cop, bad cop? Guys, that's just my cover."

"CARMEN! GOOD to see you," Cheryl greeted the brunette that had been rearranging the books in her locker out of boredom. Carmen smiled at the redhead, watched as Cheryl strode up to lean on the locker beside her.
"So I have something for you, to my excitement. Mother invited you and you father to my brother's memorial, and I wondered how she knew about you easily," The redhead pursed her crimson-colored lips.
"I know, your mother signed a contract with my dad. He's going to be arranging a security detail for the events you have and I'll be there with him to be the eyes." Carmen revealed, making Cheryl raise her eyebrows at the shorter brunette. She sizzled up beside the brunette, holding the black invitation close to her as Carmen's eyes drifted down to it.
