"DOLL, THEY'LL understand that it's a sore subject. Maybe they're just upset that you never told them about the gun and knife, but if they're truly your friends, they're bound to realize that they can't just lose you over a goddamn dark piece of your life." Robin comforts his daughter as she curled into his side, a disgruntled and sad look on her face.

"I think I just lost the only friends that I possibly had," Carmen closed her eyes, sighing deeply.

"Hey, don't think like that. I think you're friends with the Sheriff's son and Blossom's daughter, too, from what I can remember. That isn't too bad, is it?" Robin told her.

"I don't know, Dad. What if they're mad?"

Robin simply rubbed her back as she tucked herself against his chest, frustrated and upset.

"I just want you to be happy, doll. It hurts when you're sad and I can't do anything about it."

"At this point, I'm so afraid to be happy, Dad. It's like, everytime you feel it, something just takes it away." Carmen had angry tears in her eyes now.

Carmen's phone started ringing, as she forced herself to blink away the tears and get up from her comfortable position beside her father. She grabbed the device and answered the call, "Carmen Murdock."

"Ms. Murdock, I'm afraid you have a meeting in thirty minutes with the head of security of a company in the neighboring town, Greendale, and the supervisors." Abigail, the secretary of their agency, a nice woman in her forties that was a friend to both the Murdock father and daughter, informed.

"Can't it be pushed back?" Carmen sighs.

"The latest I can do is a few minutes, but they say it's really urgent, Miss,"

"Jesus, does anyone not know how to video-conference?" Carmen complained to Robin as he chuckled.

"Abigail, tell them I'll be there in a few minutes, twenty at the most."

The call disconnected, and Carmen repressed the urge to throw her phone at the wall for it to smack into nothing but pieces.

"The moment I dress into something comfortable and shit comes up," She rubs a hand down her face.

"I'm really sorry, doll. Do you want me to go with you?" Robin chuckled.

"Yeah. I'd appreciate it if I have someone I know so I don't actually lose my sanity,"

"I DON'T really know about you, but this is not comfortable. Like, at all," Carmen complained as she carefully descended down the stairs, wearing a nude-colored chiffon button down tucked neatly and gracefully in a white checkered dress pants that encased her legs comfortably. Robin grins, extending his hand from the foot of the stairs.

"Not even the pants?" He teased.

"Maybe the outfit, but I still don't like heels. I constantly feel like I'm about to fall and break my neck," She shuddered at the thought. Her nude stilettos made clicking noises as the father and daughter made their way to the front door.
