🐍"WHERE WERE you? None of us could reach you last night, Kevin told me you said you'd come back," Veronica pulled Carmen to the side, her eyes worried with a splash of anger. "But you didn't. I waited, but you didn't come back."
"I wasn't aware I had a date, nor I had stood someone up," Carmen's usual sarcastic humor was missing from her eyes as stared into Veronica's dark ones.
"Carmen?" Veronica whispered, stepping closer to her and cupped Carmen's cheek, rubbing her thumb lightly on the scar on the brunette's cheek bone. "What happened? You can tell me anything,"
'Not everything,' Carmen wanted to reply. She just twitched her lips upwards and looked down, sighing. "I'm going to have to leave Riverdale for awhile,"
"What—But Carmen—!"
"And a rain check on that date," Carmen gave her an apologetic look. "I'm sorry, it's just—My dad was taken by the people we left behind in New York, and our compound was bombed last night. I need to go back and get him, just—just keep me updated, okay?"
Veronica stared at her, shocked. "God, Carmen, I'm so sorry. Is there anything you need, anything you want me to do?"
"Just keep yourself, and the others, safe. I promised myself I wouldn't get close to anyone but here I am, with you, Betty, Kevin, Jug, hell, even Andrews and Cheryl. I can't—I can't lose anyone else, okay? I don't think I'd be able to take that. Just keep me updated, okay? I can't stay any longer than this, I can't miss my flight. I'm really sorry, Ronnie," Carmen looked at her sadly.
"It's okay," Veronica gave back a sad smile, pulling Carmen to her and gave her a kiss. It was also Carmen, who broke the kiss, but Veronica doesn't look like she minded at all. "Just come back home to me, okay? I can't lose you, too. When all things fall, I can be your safe place, just come back home to me."
"I will," Carmen grabbed Veronica's head gently, kissing the crown of the raven-haired princess' head. "I have to leave."
"Call me when you get there, wherever you're headed."

SHE STOPS the car in motion and parked it to the side of the road, pulling out a piece of paper that she'd found in her father's room. He had a couple more things that she wasn't even aware that he'd kept from her, saying she was pissed was an immediate understatement. But she wasn't going to pause the damn suicide rescuse mission because of that, it'd be immature enough in her book.
Elliot James, someone that hated Robin's guts but practically praised the ground that she and Eliana Murdock walked on. Jack Lind, a traitor inside Novak's team. He didn't just betray the Murdocks, he betrayed both sides, but evidently remained loyal to the Sorrels, otherwise known as Carmen's maternal side of the family.
She typed in first Elliot James' number, deciding for last that Jack Lind was not worth a call. It went on, a rough voice filling her ears. "Elliot James."
"I think you're very much familiar with Eliana Murdock, are you not?" Carmen leans back against the seat.
"Who's this and how do you know her?" Elliot snarked.
"So you are familiar with her. And if you are, maybe you'd know who her daughter is, otherwise known as me," Carmen sneered, peering down at her nails in boredom.
