🐍A STRONG grip found its way around her forearm, pulling her from the water. Another one grabbed her elbow, and another pair was grabbing the other side, as well as around her waist.
Robin cursed, hurriedly pulling off his sweater and left him in a grey shirt as he pulled it over his daughter, rubbing her arms to keep her warm.
"We have to get out of here before it explodes in two minutes," Apollo panted, the two men hastily supporting Carmen's limp body and wrapped her arms around their shoulders, their arms around her waist. Their free hands held guns, and guided their way around the chaos. Bodies of the accomplices that hurt Carmen laid scattered around the place, as Apollo kicked open a door. Once outside, they were attempting to go and get to safety as fast as they could without hurting Carmen.
They only made past the jeep when the building exploded, making Robin push both his bestfriend and his daughter behind the jeep, laying his body over them. The heat licked at their backs, and when nothing else was headed for them, he glanced down at Carmen's state.
"Fuck," his marine training kicked in, clenching his hands together and laid them in the proper position over Carmen's chest. 30 pumps into it for a span of one to two minutes, nothing.
"No, come on, Dowsabel. You're not dying on me," He growled, doing the chest compressions as well as the full-blown CPR harder. He winced slightly at the crack, he might've broken her already cracked but slightly healing ribs, but that was better than having her dead.
"Robin," Apollo said quietly.
"She's not leaving me, Apollo," Robin snapped almost angrily. Two minutes after that, Carmen's eyes squeezed together. Her hand, the one with a burn, shakily rose up to grasp his hand and weakly pushed him and tried to turn to her side. Robin realised what she was trying to do and assisted her in doing so as water spouted from her mouth and nose, a choking noise coming along with it from her lips. "She's not dying on me."
She grabs onto her father's forearm, as he and Apollo shared a look. It was time to bring her home.
🐍
BETTY GASPS hard as soon as Robin and Apollo entered looking as if they went in war again. In Robin's arms, held a limp Carmen, who was pallid and bloody, cocooned tightly in a blanket and looked as if she were dead.
"Is she...?"
"No, but she's injured greatly. I'm fucking scared out my hell right now, shouldn't we have gone to the hospital instead?" Robin looked at Apollo, annoyed.
Apollo looked back at him before sighing.
"Go, we'll cover for you." Veronica nods.
The desperate father hurried back to the car, he didn't register to anything else except when Apollo finally got in a decent parking lot. From there, he raced out and with Carmen in his arms, he entered the building.
Carmen was laid on a gurney, where she stirred slightly and started to cry for her father not to leave her. Her hold on his hand tightened weakly as he never let go, following her until they were forced to separate in the emergency room.
His eyes sullen, hair askew. The tall man didn't want anything else but for his daughter to be alright as he watched her with all he could, running his hand through his hair.
