BEING TRANSPORTED in a helicopter, as Carmen discovered, actually did hurt like a goddamn bitch. She was asleep most of the time thankfully, unfortunately for her father, he couldn't sleep at all. The trauma must've gotten to him. Carmen couldn't remember much except for the pain during take off and landing, according to Apollo, she was in and out of consciousness during the duration of the flight. She couldn't even remember when she had a seizure in the middle of it.

She fell back asleep as soon as they arrived in Riverdale Memorial, never waking up after that.

"SWEET MOTHER of- Am I dreaming or is Carmen's father really here in a wheelchair?" Five hours prior, Archie's father had gotten shot in the infamous diner in the hearth of Riverdale. And actually twenty four hours after Cheryl tried to drown herself in the frozen river of Sweetwater. Now the four friends sat, with the Cooper parents and Hermione Lodge, waiting for the verdict.

"Elizabeth Coo-"

"Mr. Murdock!" Betty had called. The man squinted, hissing under his breath as he brought up a hand to rub the bridge of his nose.

"Keep it down, yeah?" He muttered to Betty before she could speak. The blonde, guilty, nodded immediately.

"Is Carmen okay? How is she?" She continued, Veronica having to hold on to her forearm.

"She's coping," Apollo answered for his bestfriend, shooting him a concerned look. "You can actually see her now. Room 304, if   they ask for anything, just tell them Blackbird."

"Thank you," Apollo smiled at the teen warmly. "I hope you get well soon, Mr. Murdock."

The man hummed lightly, almost on the verge of passing out from the pain as Apollo rolled his wheelchair away to a nearby doctor, who immediately went to check on Robin.

Betty turned back to Veronica, nervousness plastered on her face. "I told you, she'll pull through."

"Come on," Jughead smiled gently, ignoring Alice Cooper's scoff when he grabs Betty's hand. "You coming, Arch?"

The redhead boy shook his head, "I'll wait for my dad and catch up to you. Tell her to get well soon, yeah? Pop Tate misses her a lot."

The door loomed over them, three men clad in black were guarding the doorway, immediately blocking them. Hermione had insisted in accompanying the three teens, tensing up at the sight of the burly men. "Need something?"

"Blackbird," The name rolled off Jughead's lips smoothly, sounding like it wasn't himself at all. He had positioned himself to be slightly in front of the women, as the men shared looks and looked down on them condescendingly as they were granted access into Carmen's room.

The lights were dimmed, a contrast to the brightness of the hallway as their eyes were forced to adjust to the sudden change in lighting. The lamp that was turned on at the bedside table gave off enough light that they could see the extent of what exactly Carmen had gone through. The girl herself actually looked more dead than anything, one hand over her torso and the other limp at her side.

Her head was wrapped in a pristine white gauze, like it was newly changed, and made the deep hue of blood stand out, even more from her pallid complexion. There was a thin sheen of sweat coating her forehead, even as the temperature wasn't too hot nor cold.
