"Sinners." The hiss was swift on Cassandra's tongue, her eyes narrowed as she watched the names pass and the bodies be dragged off screen into the darkness beyond. It was despicable. She couldn't call those whose bodies were slashed to ribbons and necks sliced open innocent. Few were that had suffered through the plight of life and all of its infestations, but that didn't mean they deserved such a fate. Tortured and strung before the cameras again as corpses.

A warm hand fell onto her shoulder, kneading the tension out as the woman relaxed back into the chair. She dropped her phone into her lap, turning her head up to meet Dina's gaze. "You're too stressed, love." The hands trailed down to her shoulder blades and worked in deeper.

Cassandra sighed and tried to wave her away as she picked up the skull staring back at her off the desk. "It isn't right. They're broadcasting this filth without reason, without a lesson." She emphasized the word with a throw of her arm and the wooden chair spun around.

Dina was there to catch her. One hand held her shoulder tight, the other reaching down and tugging the mask from her hands. "We may worry about them another time," she insisted, helping to gently place the skull atop Cas's own. "For now, we have our own ritual to finish."

The Task

Welcome to Quarterfinals! You've come a long ways but we've still got a few more tasks to really deliver those last minute feels and character development.

If your character is with the cult of St. Judas, you've survived auditory, psychological, and physical torture but now it's time for emotional torture. The cultists left you alone last task after horrifically brutalizing you and things are only going to get worse when you find yourselves faced with a decision. In the middle of the night, two people will be dragged in the room by our wonderful cultists and you'll find that these two guests are from your past, people who may be important to you. It's a fun game we're about to play—you get to play the infamous Dead or Alive but in person. You will be the deciding vote on which person from your past gets to live and which one gets to die. You'll have exactly one minute to make your decision and failure to choose either one will lead to the death of both. Have fun.

As for the characters still left with the Hunters of Artemis, it's time for the grand event. In some cultures, it's believed that the weight of a sin is passed from father to son, from brother to brother, shared between blood. That being said, the Hunters have brought a special guest for each of you. Who this guest is will be left up to you, whether it's a parent, a sibling, a former flame—we're leaving it to you. Regardless, at some point throughout your character's wandering, they will find this guest tied to a stake and about to be burned. The Hunters will give you a choice: either this person dies for your sins, or you take their place and die instead. This decision is not one to take lightly because if you choose to have your character die in their place, you will not be able to write them next task and will be switching to the other person. Choose wisely.

Special Note: Before you start outlining, there is a catch. In addition to having your character make a decision that should be clear by the end of the entry, this is a song task! Yay!
