Milo

***

"C'mon babe grab the special glasses!"

"Milo. I'm holding an eight pound bowling ball that's pressing against my uterus. You gotta give me a minute." I laugh at the sight of Thalia waddling over to me and Janell slaps her hand over her mouth to keep herself from laughing. I lay back on a lawn chair and Thalia lets out a breath when she gets to me.

I pull her by the hand so that she's sitting between my legs and pull her back to me.

"M'lady" Dash says, handing her a hot dog and she wipes a tear from her eye.

"You know me too well" she says and I grab the glasses she put to the side and place them on her face.

"Okay. But how much of the sun will we see?" Leo asks as he holds his one year old in his arms trying to cover her eyes with the paper glasses as she stares at the sky.

"None of it. That's why it's a lunar eclipse. You're supposed to see the moon covering it." Dash says, walking back over to the grill.

"June, Sweetheart, stop staring at the sun for one second" Leo grumbles and January laughs as she walks over to her husband.

"She truly is your daughter." He mentions as she fixes the glasses to cover her little baby eyes.

"Don't make fun of us for staring at the sun!" He says and I feel Thalia giggle.

"Wait! I think it's happening" Janell says and we all look up and stay silent as the sky gets slightly darker. But it is also very slow so we are silent for a while.

"Thalia did you drop your drink on my leg?" I ask and look up to Thalia's eyes widening.

"That's not how it feels when I pee myself" she mumbles as she looks down and then I see her face scrunch up in pain. Sitting her up quickly I maneuver my way around her and pull her up to her feet.

"What's the matter?" I ask as she still has her face squished in pain and then a sudden relief.

"Alright. Yeah. Okay. Let's go." She says to herself while nodding.

"What? Go where?" I ask as she hands half the hotdog to Dash and starts waddling to the house.

"My water just broke. Let's go Atlas. In the car." And then the backyard went into havoc of everyone screaming.

But Thalia prepared me for this. So by the time she was already in the back seat of the mini van I begged her to let me get I already had the bag ready to go.

I jumped in the driver seat and Dash got in the passenger seat while everyone scrambled to another car.

"Why's she in the back?" Dash asked, looking back at Thalia while I try to drive fast but safely.

"Milo wouldn't let me sit in the front on our practice run. He said it was too dangerous in case the airbag went off or something. Didn't want to argue." Dash looks at me as I nod my head.

"I still can't believe you got a mini van. You only have one kid." Dash says with a laugh.

"It's efficient. Shut up." I grumble out and the second I park the car outside of the hospital, I'm practically carrying Thalia in.

"My wife's in labor!"

"I thought we agreed that you wouldn't scream when my water broke."

"Can't help how excited I am about having a daughter with my beautiful wife." I say and get big brown eyes to look back at me while I plant a chaste kiss on her lips before she's put into a wheelchair. There's not a moment where she doesn't let go of my hand and I'm loving every second of it. It's just the sight of her in a hospital bed that really gets to me and I guess she sees the weird look I have when she places a soft hand on the side of my face.

"We're only here to bring a little Atlas into the world and then we're getting the hell out."

"Sounds like a plan" I say, feeling a little relieved and upset that's she's the one comforting me instead of the other way around.

Thalia was great during the whole thing and I tried my best to comfort her through it but I swear I almost passed out a few times.

"All the aunts and uncles want to know if they can come in yet?" A nurse asks us in a quiet voice and I finally pull my gaze away from the baby for a second.

"The doctor is going to do one last check up. Is it cool if we can just wait until that happens and they can all come in?"

"Of course" she says as she closes the door behind her. I look back down and smile at the little girl, readjusting the little cap over her head. A little tuft of dark hair peeking out.

"I hope she has your eyes." Thalia whispers to me and I look at her and smile, placing a kiss on her head.

"She looks like the pictures of your mom." She whispers again and I sniffle a little, not realizing how watery my eyes have gotten.

"She looks a lot like her." She does. Just as beautiful. And just as beautiful as her own mom too.

"We can name her after your mom if you want." Thalia says and I feel my heart swell.

"As much as I would love that, I think we should give her her own name. Something she can make stand out by herself."

"I guess we can make your mom's name her middle name. Just so she has a piece of her since she can't be here."

"I like the sound of that." I place an arm around Thalia and she leans her head on my shoulder as we look down at the little baby.

"So what do you think we should name her?"

Thalia asks as she rubs her finger over our baby's cheek.

Our. Baby.

Damn, I'll never get over that
feeling. We are pulled out of our thoughts when the door opens again.

"A baby during the lunar eclipse! What a fun thing!" The doctor says as we hold the little chubby girl between us and in that moment Thalia and I lock eyes.

"Luna." She says and I can't help the wide smile that spills across my face.

"Kind of on the nose don't you think?" She just shrugs and looks back at the little girl.

"You know Atlas had to govern the moon in mythology right?" I can't take my eyes off of the two girls.

My girls.

"Yeah, it's also one of Saturn's moons"

"So we gotta govern our little moon." She said with a giggle.

"Our little moon moon. She's gonna hate us when she grows up" she says with another giggle.

"Too bad we're going to love her too much." Placing a kiss on both of their heads I look down at the little baby snuggling deeper in Thalia's hold.

"Our little Luna."

"Gosh. We better not have any more kids. Nothings going to live up to this name."

"We'll figure it out" I say and she looks at me with wide eyes.

"You want more kids?"

"Only if you do" she smiles at that and nods, looking at Luna once more.

"We do make them pretty cute. It would be a shame not to have more."
