It's been a few months since the surgery and thankfully I am cancer free!
The nurse from the hospital turned out to be very kind, but something just didn't click between us.
Other then that I've been able to live the life that I truly deserved. Juliana's wedding is coming soon. She wanted to wait until after Isabel had the baby so that she can stand the entire ceremony. Isabel and Sebastian proved to me that they will be responsible parents. That they will be finishing college and taking care of the baby and I promised them that I would be with them every step of the way... well after being angry with them for so long.
Leo and January finally had their real wedding and it was beautiful. I won't lie, I may have shed a tear or two. Leo decided that he was ready to take over his dad's company and asked me to be a partner, so the two of us are doing pretty well and I'm loving every second of it.
The only thing that has felt off has been the way that I am near Thalia. My heart will always belong to her and I know it, but I owe it to myself to step back. And, her actions have helped me but also leave me confused. For some reason she has been a little distant from me and when I ask her if she's okay she tells me that she's fine.
I know that something is urking her, but I know my best friend and that means she will tell me in due time.
So now Leo and I are off to an event that Juliana is hosting. She will be speaking on a stage about her newest project that she refuses to let me know about, but says that I'll really like it.
The lights dim and I settle back into my seat as I see a few people talk to the crowd before Juliana is set to come out. When she does she gets a chorus of applause and I feel very proud.
"Hello all" she says with a smile "I know you have all been wondering about my newest work and what it would be about. Where I went to get research and how I did my field work." She actually didn't tell me about her newest project. Her eyes catch mine and she gives me a wide smile as I give her a thumbs up and she takes a deep breath.
"Well I started my research for this project 11 years ago. I was 13 years old and kept this little notebook where I wrote every detail about it and just recently I finished it." She walks to a table and brings out a thick notebook to show the crowd.
"The story is basically about the stars and the moon. Two beautiful bodies in the night sky who seem to be attracted to one another, but just never get close enough to be able to truly work out. It's a love story. A love story that everyone but the two lovers chose to acknowledge." She opens the notebook and clears her throat.
"I'll keep the names a secret, until later on." Looking down she scans the page before starting.
"'She claimed to be part of the welcoming committee' that's all he said. With his braced up face, he threw his head in a motion to push the bangs out of it." She looked up and I sunk into my chair, embarrassed.
"This is our male love interest in the story. I was talking to him about his first day at the new middle school that we moved to. He forgot everything that happened that day and only told me about the cheerleader who introduced herself to him. He told me how beautiful she was and how he wanted to become her friend the next time that he saw her. And she was the only thing he talked about for the rest of the day.
"And he did befriend her. And from that moment on that cheerleader, our female love interest in the story, was all around me. She had these big doe eyes that he didn't realize were looking at him whenever his weren't looking at her. Like two people who just didn't realize what they should have known. The girl with the eyes like the nighttime sky that he adored and the boy with the ocean blue eyes that she adored."
