Milo

It's the day of Thalia's rehearsal dinner... well not anymore. Thalia has to call of the guests now and tell them that there won't be a wedding anymore. That must be a gut wrenching feeling, and I feel so bad for her. I suddenly hear a scream from the living room and it's Janell.

"Milo come here quick!"

I sprint out in only my boxers holding one of my lamps ready to hit whatever is making Janell scream and I see the four of them standing in a line giggling at me. Juliana, Isabel, Zoey, and Lilly, my sisters. They are all stand in the entryway while I am looking like an idiot with no pants on.

"Go put some clothes you idiot. Your sisters want to talk to you."

Thanks Janell, for scaring the life out of me just to announce the entrance of the 'princesses'. I finally put on some pants and see the four of them all around my apartment. I always said I wanted to have a little brother, but my parents decided to ignore that and have four girls.

Juliana is a year younger than me so she's twenty-four, Isabel is twenty-one and the twins, Zoey and Lilly, just turned eighteen. Yup, no younger brothers but enough sisters to drive me crazy all the time. I unfortunately had to be a parental figure to these four for a long time. When the twins were four years old, our mother passed away in a car crash on her way to work. We were devastated and our father had to be both of our parents, which is a very hard task. Our father was in the military so we moved around a lot. When I was in middle school my dad decided to stay in one town for a longer time, that year I met Thalia.

Unfortunately it turned out that he stayed in the town because he had to go to the hospital everyday, he had lung cancer. He was able to live with it for a couple of years, but when I turned nineteen he passed away.

I was nineteen, and I had custody of two twelve year olds, a fifteen year old, and almost- eighteen- year old. I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I have to say though... I have gotten really good at French braiding hair.

"What are you guys here for?" I actually didn't know why they were visiting all at the same time.

"We wanted to show you the dresses we bought for Thalia's wedding. Zoey said she is going to fight me over one and we want your opinion on who gets it." Isabel held up a long bag to show that she had all of the dresses with her. This was going to be an awkward conversation.

"Well actually, you aren't going to need those anymore." I guess Thalia should start calling people sooner rather than later.

"What do you mean?" Lilly asked trivially.

"Did the wedding get pushed back?" Zoey asks, starting to seem a little worried.

"Well...the wedding is cancelled. I can't say why, but she isn't marrying Lucas anymore." I can't help but smirk in the tinniest bit. Then I realize how mind blown all of my sisters seem to be. Yup, I don't think that was the right way to tell them. Oh well!

"Milo! Can I speak to you in the kitchen please!" Juliana says while sprinting passed me into the next room. Why do people like telling me secrets in the kitchen so much?

I follow her and see that she is jumping up and down while clapping her hands. Everything she's doing is confusing me more and more.

"What's wrong with you?" I finally ask her.

"Are you kidding me? Milo, I knew you weren't the brightest light bulb, but are you actually that dumb?"

"Juliana, why the heck are you insulting me right now?"
