I followed behind him cautiously, watching his every movements. He seemed so relaxed in his strides, while I was tense and timid. This is was perturbed me. It was as if he was always one step ahead, and knew every route I could possibly take. As if he were somehow in my head.
Suddenly, he howled with laughter, breaking the silence, "You know what hysterical?! The day you waltzed in here, with your friend talking in your ear- what's his name again? Oh yes, poor Cisco. You guys were bewildered, simply shell-shocked to find your irreplaceable companions were not locked up here." He twirled his hand towards the ceiling of the cavernous building. "You were so close too. Hmm...close indeed."
"No games. We had a deal. You show me where my friends are."
"No-no-no! Remember you have to put up with me," he grinned. He dashed to the exterior wall, and put his hand up to the metal. I followed him and watched intently. He snapped his fingers to a constant beat, as he waited. He hummed his vocal chords, fluctuating his pitches in a hideous tone. I winced, and then something happened.
The entire floor that I had been grounded upon collapsed into a hidden underground basement. It was about a two-story fall, and my face took all the blame. As soon as I hit the hard Earth, it seemed the atmosphere changed a whole ten degrees colder than it had once been. I heard a thump beside me, and the speedster landed promptly on his feet, in perfect condition. He pretended to shake of his lap, and offered me his hand. I ignored the gesture and started to stand up from my knees. When I looked up, my heart skipped a beat.
"Iris?!" I yelped, racing toward her cell. My eyes danced in disbelief. She was encased in ice, as big as a glacier. I brought my fists to the cube, and pounded until my knuckled bled. I turned around, and faced the monster. My eyes flooded with tears, and my vision became blurry ad clouded. "What did you do?!"
He simply stood there, a blank expression laid across his face. I couldn't bare to look at him any longer. I phased through the block of ice, and grabbed Iris with me. We glided through the object while I shook her vigorously so she could escape too*.
I held her in my arms and cuddled her to my chest. Without a second to spare, I super-speeded out of the warehouse and out of the city, until we reached Central City Hospital. I had to hurry; I knew every moment she didn't get treatment, her survival was put at risk. I glanced at her one last time before I set her on an empty gurney. I leaned close to Iris, and felt her soft, cold lips on mine. I cupped my hands around her face, and kissed her on her forehead. I stepped away and called for help, "Hey! I need some medical attention over here!"

*Speedsters can phase through things, meaning they can go through objects. If they vibrate fast enough, they are even able to carry someone with them (Iris).
