After dinner, my dad went back up on stage and started doing the raffles and auctions, while I sat quietly in my seat. I had the weirdest feeling that I was being watched, but every time I looked around I didn't see anyone looking at me.

"Come on, Alex. We gotta go." Blue said, grabbing my hand. Ugh. I forgot she signed us up for the "First Dance" auction, which meant somebody was about to pay a lot of money to dance with us. Not only was Blue and I participating, but Talia, Uncle Robin's date, and a few other women were doing it as well.

"Next up, we have the first dance auction. These beautiful women have decided to auction off their first dance to the highest bidder." Talia stepped on to the stage first, while my dad read off some bullshit facts about her.

"Ugh, I can't believe I let you talk me into this." I grumbled, crossing my arms.

"Oh come on! This is fun, Alex. Loosen up a little!" She said, shaking my body.

"Next up we have Harper!" My dad said, as Blue walked out on stage. I looking into the crowd, seeing Frost standing there with a mean look on his face, and that made me laugh. He has enough money saved up, so I don't see why he doesn't join in and bid for his girl. Two men were already going back and forth over dancing with Blue, but then Frost finally voiced his bid and guess what? He WON! I found myself clapping and laughing at how he came in and got his girl, but my laughing ceased when it was my turn to go out on stage.

"Next up, we have my beautiful daughter Alexandria." Oh shit...that's me. I stepped out on to the stage and smiled at my dad. "Don't be shy gentlemen, this is for a good cause. Don't think I won't be watching whoever she dances with, because well...she is my daughter." The crowd laughed as I blushed a little. Ugh, he's so embarrassing.

"Ten thousand dollars!" I heard Kane yell out. What is he doing? I didn't expect for him to join in on this auction.

"Twenty thousand!" Another voice calls out. I then heard a slight chuckle as yet another voice chimes in, only this voice made my heart flutter.

"Amateurs! One hundred thousand dollars!" I squint my eyes, seeing the man from earlier in my line of vision. The crowd cheers, but not before Kane speaks up.

"Two hundred thousand!" Wow! Does he even have that kind of money? I thought to myself.

"Five hundred thousand!" My mouth drops as the crowd cheers loudly. I look over at Kane who looked pissed, right along with my dad and Uncle Robin. What are they so mad for? This literally broke an auction world record.

"Alex..." My dad grumbled, as the man walked up on stage to claim his prize. Me. Finally seeing him up close, there was definitely something familiar about him, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was.

"Who are you?" I asked, as we stepped off of the stage.

"My name is Jack." He spoke, almost making me melt at his feet.

"Well it's nice to meet you Jack. I can't believe you spent half a million dollars just to dance with me." I was both shocked and flattered by the gesture, especially knowing that a complete stranger was willing to spin half a million dollars for one little dance.

"Well...I've always been known to do some crazy things." He smirked.

"So you're telling me you're crazy?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at him.

"I used to be, but not anymore."

"I don't believe that."

"You don't? How come?" He asked, placing his hand on my lower back. My body was responding to him in a way that it hadn't responded to anyone else, except Joker.

"Because I've seen crazy, sir. And you don't have his smile." I told him. Before he could respond, we were all called back out onto the dance floor, where the first dances were about to start. Alicia Keys "No One" blared throughout the room, as I wrapped my arms around Jack's neck while he wrapped his hands around my waist. I gasped when I felt him pull me against him, leaving no space in between us. "You're not prone on personal space, are you?"

"Not at all. I've been watching you all night and now that I've got you right where I want you...I'm seizing the opportunity to be close to you.

"You've been watching me all night? Why?" I asked him. I knew I wasn't crazy when I felt someone watching me, but why was this complete stranger watching me?

"For starters, everyone has been raving over how beautiful Bruce Wayne's daughter is and I couldn't agree more. You are absolutely stunning." He looked me deep in my eyes, and I noticed that that were an enticing shade of blue. Kind of like Jokers eyes. Ugh, I really need to stop comparing everyone to Joker.

"Thank you." I blushed. "I can't help but wonder if we've met before. You seem awfully familiar."

"Trust me, sweetheart...I'd remember if we met or not. This face of yours is too exquisite to forget." He caressed my cheek, as I closed my eyes and relished his flesh on mine. It was as if we were the only two people in the room, even though I knew we weren't. I haven't felt this way in the longest time and I couldn't help but like the way this stranger made me feel.

Once the song ended, I felt a twinge of sadness as Jack and I pulled away from each other.

"Mind if we cut in?" My dad and Uncle Robin spoke, approaching us.

"Not at all." I said, as Uncle Robin grabbed my hand.

"You two dance while I have a word with my friend here." He placed his hands on Jack's shoulder, but he didn't budge. He just stood there, staring at me, as if he wasn't ready to depart from me.

"It was nice meeting you, Alexandria." He said, grabbing my hand and kissing it.

"You too, Jack." I smiled, watching as he and my dad disappeared into the crowd.
