*~Frost~*

"Well, well, well...I never thought I'd see you again." The bartender chuckled, spitting into a cup, and cleaning it with a towel.

"Did he just...?" I heard Harper mumble.

"Yeah...I think he did." Alex mumbled back, cutting her off.

"Who the broads?" The bartender questioned, glaring at both Alex and Harper. I had to restrain from getting angry, trying my best not to check this fool for calling my girl and Alex broads. I knew how people in here operated, so I acted as if what he said didn't phase me.

"Excuse you?" Both Alex and Harper snapped. I had to defuse this situation, otherwise we'd be thrown out of here, and we'll never find out about J.

"Chill you two..." I murmured, before clearing my throat. "They're with me. J wanted me to go out and hire two new recruits. Is he here?" I knew that if J was here, then he definitely wasn't Jack anymore.

"Yeah, he's in the back. You can go right on through, but those two have to stay here. I'm under strict orders." That wasn't going to sit well with Alex and I knew that for a fact, but hopefully I can convince her to chill while I see if I can talk to J.

"Okay, thanks man." I turned towards them and of course, Alex immediately shook her head. I knew this was coming.

"I'm not waiting here, I'm going with you!" She snapped.

"Alex listen to me...if they won't let you back there, then there's a good reason for it. Just wait here and I'll be right back. Okay? I promise." I assured her. She sighed heavily and nodded her head.

"Okay fine."

"Babe...be careful." Harper said.

"I will. Sit tight." I turned and headed to the back, walking down the long dark hallway, hearing numerous voices coming from behind a curtain. I stepped inside, getting stopped by one of the doorman, who gave me a death glare.

"This is a private party! Bathrooms the other way." He growled. I shoved him off of me and fixed my suit, glaring at him as if he had lost his damn mind.

"I'm here to see Mr. J." I spoke.

"Is he expecting you?"

"What difference does that make? I'm here so run along, like the errand boy that you are, and let him know that Frost is here!" I sized this dude up, as he tried his best to do the same to me, but was failing miserably.

"Jonny? Jonny fucking Frost, how the hell are you?" I turned and there he was. The clown prince of crime, back in all of his clown like glory. He was grinning widely, showing off his sliver teeth, as he motioned for me to follow him. "I was wondering when you'd come by and see me. So tell me...how is everything?"

"Everything is fine. I'm actually here because-" I began, but was immediately cut off.

"I told you your right hand man would be back." I looked passed J, seeing Harley standing there, holding a smaller version of herself in her arms. When the hell did she have a baby? "Look Lucy...your Uncle Frost here!"

"Lucy? Uncle Frost?"

"Oh Puddin', you didn't tell him? This is me and Mistah J's daughter, Lucy." I felt like somebody hit me over the head with a brick, knowing that this night wouldn't end well for any of us. Especially Alex.

"Daughter?" I questioned, glaring at J.

"Harley, doll face, be a good girl and go fetch me some whiskey." Joker said, as Harley nodded and walked off.

"What the hell man! When Alex finds out-"

"She's not going to find out about this, now is she?" I couldn't even act like I was going to keep this from her, especially when she was literally right outside. "Now, come join us in a quick game of poker. I'll give you half of what we make, and afterwards we'll talk." I tried to decline, but before I knew it...I was sitting down at the table, dealing the cards.

We were on our third round of poker, when everything went down hill in a blink of an eye. Both Alex and Harper found their way back to where we were, and I had honestly forgotten all about them waiting on me. Soon after they came into the room, things slowly escalated, but what really set things off is when Harley came into the room with Lucy. I had never seen Alex look so hurt and angry, not since the night Joker left her that hurtful note.

What I didn't expect was for Alex to lash out and slap Joker, damn near getting herself and Harper killed in the process. After she provoked Joker, beat up the doorman, and stormed out of the room...things got a little awkward.

"Everybody out! Now!" Joker shouted, as everyone grabbed their money, and rushed out of the room. I followed behind them, preparing to walk out of the room, until he grabbed my arm. "No! You stay. Harley, get out! Go home and I'll be there later, but don't wait up." She looked at me, giving me a sad look, as she nodded her head.

"Okay, Puddin'." She murmured, as she carried a sleeping Lucy out of the room. I couldn't even feel sorry for her, because she brought this all on herself. Chasing after a man that doesn't love her, let alone respect her. She deserves everything that is coming to her.

"I really fucked up."

"I'll say." I chuckled, pouring us both a glass of whiskey. "I tried to warn you that Alex was here, but you kept cutting me off."

"Halo...how is she?" He asked, throwing back the whiskey.

"She's good, but...I'm sure she misses you."

"No. No, no, no...she doesn't miss me. She misses Jack."

"She misses her father, J. You...you are her father, no matter what." I told him.

"Jonny boy...I need you to do something for me." He grumbled, pouring himself another shot.

"Name it."

"Take care of Alex and Halo. I know when she said she was done with me...she meant it. As crazy as it sounds...that broke me a little." He tossed yet another shot back, breaking the class cup with his bare hands. "Maybe it's not meant for me to have a happy ending, I mean...look at me. Look at everything I've done and all the people I hurt, including my sweet kitten."

"You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, J. You did what you had to do to ensure your family's safety and I'm sure Alex knows that. Seeing Harley probably set her off, only because she thought she had killed her, and now she has to see her and a baby she claims is ya'll baby. What the hell is up with that?" I asked.

"Harley revealed that she was pregnant by me a couple of years ago, giving birth to a baby girl while she was in Belle Reve, and her sister ended up taking her in and raising her as her own. Why she thought bringing that child around was a good idea, I'll never know, but I will let her know that she needs to take Lucy back to her sister. She wants to play house so bad and it is driving me insane!" He growled.

"Why don't you just kill her and get it over with? Rid yourself of Harley once and for all, go back to Mr. Wayne and ask him to make you sane again, and live happily ever after with Alex. I mean...you deserve it, J, and so does Alex and Halo."

"That's easier said than done, but just promise me that you will look after them." He looked at me with pleading eyes, which told me that this was just as hard on him as it was on Alex.

"I promise, J. Alex and Halo will forever be in good hands as long as I'm around." I assured him.
