Rose's POV
~eight days before~

I sat on my chair and scooted towards the desk to get more comfortable since I was going to be sitting there for a prolonged amount of time. I gathered all the reports and resources I have on Ethan and I began reading through all of them one by one to segregate the false information and the real information.

So far, there has been a number of reports implying that Ethan is the person running the website. I felt sceptical because I knew that as cruel Ethan can be, he won't sell childrens' parts off like that. It was just very odd.

I was bewildered at the number of reports and evidence showing that Ethan is the culprit I've been looking for. I immediately dialled Mr Dolan and informed him on the matter.

"Hello, Dolan speaking."

"Hello Mr Dolan, it's Rose."

"Oh Rose, have you found the criminal?"

"Yes. Can you fly to Sicily?"

"Sure, when do you need me to be there?"

"As soon as possible, please."

"I can be there tomorrow but I'll have to fly back to New York the following day. I have a meeting to attend to."

"That's perfect. Do you need me to pick you up at the airport?"

"There's no need for that, Rose. We can discuss in one of my offices. I'll have a driver pick you up from your apartment."

"If you insist."

"I insist."

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow, Mr Dolan."

The line goes dead and I heaved a sigh. I've had enough proof and evidence to assassinate him. Of course, that's not what I want to do, but I have to.

I spent the rest of my day, hiding from Ethan. During the time, I was coming up with a conclusion. Eventually, I've accepted the fact that my boyfriend, was indeed, a child organ trafficker.

I laid on my bed, thinking about how I was going to break this news to his dad. Assuming his father is a righteous man, how would he feel if his son was the actual culprit behind this issue? He was right under our noses the entire time!

It didn't feel right. Nonetheless, I had no proof to back him up even if I wanted to. Ethan and I still haven't talked since he yelled profanities at me. No, I wasn't offended. He deserved a right to get mad. It was my fault for being a coward.

He can see through my façade, though I really wished he hadn't. I'm still convinced I love him, though. There was no way I wasn't. I still get butterflies in my tummy when we'd make eye contact. Every second we shared together was absolute bliss in my eyes.

Nightfall came quicker than I had expected since I was just lazing around all day, thinking of ways to break the news to Mr Dolan gently. My eyes started to droop as the moon rose higher in the sky, revealing the bright and shining stars that glittered across the midnight sky.

_____

~seven days before~

I woke up that morning to a text message from Mr Dolan saying that his driver would pick me up from the apartment and send me to one of his offices to discuss about Ethan. I had gotten dressed and I made my way out of my room.

On my way to the front door, I walked past Ethan, who was eating breakfast. He did not acknowledge me while I was in his presence so I did what normal people would do. I ignored him too.
