Ryan's pov:

Why did I even say yes to this?

I can't dance, I can't socialize and I don't even have a date.

Well, most of my friends don't, but that's not the point! The winter dance is something for couples, or the kids who like people in general to attempt and not for people like me that would rather sit in their own room, listening to music or just being with their friends.

"Ryan, come on!", Spencer sighed next to me, laying a hand on my shoulder, "this will be fun!"

"Just because you wanna ask Linda out, right?", I said, rolling my eyes.

"You know I have a crush on her since last year", he said, "and today is my chance! But you'll have go with us."

"Alright", I sighed, "but only for you."

"This is my best friend", he said, smiling, "and he'll also be there."

"Who?", I asked, pretending not to know who he meant.

"Brendon", he answered, "I know you have a huge ass crush on him since the day you both met."

"We're friends", I said, "nothing more."

"Suuuuure", he said, walking away, " put on your button up shirt and black skinny jeans, he'll throw himself at you when you come in that outfit."

I rolled my eyes, but did what he said. He was right. I have a huge crush on Brendon, but he's my friend.

We hang out sometimes, but I barely spend time with him. I always thought that I was too boring for him.

"You'll come?", Spencer asked after I put on my clothes.

"Yup", I said, stepping out of the door, joining Spencer downstairs. We went outside the house and already spotted Jon in his car waiting for us. He had a date with him, the only one of us three.

"Hey jon", I said, while I sat down on one of the back seats.

"Ready to go?"

"I'm ready to go."

We arrived at the Christmas dance about time. Not too late, not too early.

Some people were already dancing, pairs of people kissing somewhere.

I immediatly smelled the chocolate and vanilla cookies. It smelled like cinnamon and apples, I loved the smell. The decoration was glittery and shining in green and red.

"Ryan!", someone yelled from behind, causing me to flinch slightly.

I turned around and saw Brendon smiling at me.
He had a white button up shirt and a pair of black skinny jeans on. He looked beautiful today.

"Sorry if I scared you", he chuckled, when he stood next to me.

My heart began to beat faster than normal, I already felt my cheeks heating up. God, I'm gonna embarrass myself in front of him.

"You didn't", I mumbled, scratching to back of my neck.

"Hey bren", Spencer said next to me. He gave me a small smirk, before turning his attention to the wonderful boy next to me.

"Oh, he spence! I think Linda is over there", Brendon said, pointing at a blonde woman standing next to her friends.

"Thanks, I'll go now", he said, already making his way over to the girl.

"Christmas is a nice time of the year, isn't it?", he asked, looking at the big Christmas tree.

"It is", I answered, but my eyes weren't quite laying on the tree. I had my eyes on brendons brown ones. The Christmas lights were reflected in his chocolate coloured eyes that you could melt into so easily.

"Aren't you here with someone?", he asked, turning his attention to me.

"I'm with Jon and Spencer", I answered.

"No date?"

"No date", I answered, "What about you?"

"Same", he sighed. This took me by surprise. He was one of the most handsome people from school and the girls were practically throwing themselves over him.

But no, he stood here talking to the shy guy literally nobody knew about.

"Let's go somewhere more quiet", he said, already pulling me by my arm into another room. Here was just a kissing couple and a few other kids talking to each other. But it was indeed more quiet here.

"Do you like someone?", Brendon asked our of nowhere.

"What?"

"Do you have an eye on someone? I mean, maybe I could help you", he said, scratching the back of his neck.

"Uhm, no. I mean yes, I do... But i think he do- she doesnt feel the same", I said, correcting the pronouns. I just came out to my friends and family, but not the school.

"May be she does", he said. Thank God he didn't noticed my correction.

"Believe me, bren, she doesn't."

"If you say so", he said, chuckling.

"Do you have someone you like a lot?", I asked.

"Yes I do", he said.

"Well, she probably likes you", I said, "i mean, the girls are literally throwing themselves at you, she's probably one of them."

"Who said it was a 'she'?", he asked, smirking at me.

"Oh, sorry, I didn't want to assume anything", I said.

"It's alright", he said, stepping closer.

"You w-wanna ask him o-out?", I asked, trying to stay calm by his presence. He was so close to me, I could just move one inch forward and our lips would be connected.

"I think so", he said, his smirk just getting wider and wider.

He lifted his head and looked at something hanging from the ceiling down.
I also did what he did and I saw a mistletoe right over us.

"You know what that means, right?", he asked.

"Uhm", I made, not words coming out of my mouth.

He slowly laid his hand on the back of my neck and one behind my back, pulling me closer.

His plumb, full lips were giving me a small smirk before crashing onto mine. It released butterflies in my stomach and I think I was exploding in myself.

I laid my arms around his neck, pulling him closer.

Then he pulled away, grinning.

"George Ryan Ross the third, will you go on a date with me?", be aksed, causing me to giggle.

"Yes, I will", I said, and he gave me a kiss again.

Maybe these Christmas parties weren't that bad at all.
