Brendons pov:
"Let's go Christmas tree shopping!", I yelled, hugging Ryan from behind. I loved doing so and I knew that Ryan shared my thoughts.
"But it's cold outside", he sighed, having a small smile on his face.
"Its nearly Christmas, babe, what do you expect?", I chuckled, laying my head on his shoulder.
"I don't know", he said, "but what if we don't find the perfect tree?"
"We will, Ryan", I whispered in his ear.
"Well then, let's go!"
☆
We drove with our car to the place where we could find the perfect Christmas tree.
There weren't much people on the wide field filled with trees. Just a few couples and families.
"Its cold, Brendon", Ryan stuttered next to me when we got out of the car, "too cold."
"Come on babe, it's not that bad", I chukeld, wrapping my arms around him.
"That's what you're saying", he mumbled under his breath.
"Now, let's be a little bit more motivated! We want to have a pretty Christmas tree and I'm so excited to buy one! Aren't you too?", I asked, a bit too enthusiastic.
"I am", he sighed, "it's just not my favourite weather, you know?"
I nod quickly and already went to the big amount of trees. A big one, I thought. It's gonna be the most perfect Christmas tree for us, the most perfect couple.
"Which one do you like?", I aksed him, looking at all the bright, green trees in front of us.
"The green one", he mumbled dry, causing me to roll my eyes.
"No, really, there has to be one you like", I said, "look, this one is pretty green and also not to small. I mean, this Christmas has to be perfect."
"Brendon, we don't need such a big tree, how is it supposed to fit into our house?", he asked, staring at the tree.
"It will fit. It has to", I said, "so, what are you saying?"
"Let's go and search for another one", he said, smiling at me.
"Alright, if you say so", I mumbled, slightly dissapointed by his words.
We continued walking again until a man came right into our direction.
"Do you guys need help?", he asked. He had grey hair and a red scarf on.
"No, we come good along alone", Ryan said, but I stopped him.
"Yes, help would be nice", I quickly corrected Ryan, who just rolled his eyes.
"Do you have an idea of the perfect Christmas tree?", the man asked.
"Well, we wanted the most beautiful one for the perfect Christmas!", I said.
"Oh, ok", the man chuckled, "for this it's quite late don't you think?"
"Too late?"
"Well, most of the big trees are already sold out", the man explained.
"But here are still many standing", I said confused.
"Reserved for a big company", he said.
"You're kidding right?", I asked, but he shook his head.
"I can show you the rest if you want to", he said, causing me to nod.
"Yeah, that would be nice."
We started following the man in front of us. It was actually my fault, I should've known that most of the pretty trees are already sold out.
"Bren, it doesn't have to be one of those perfect trees", Ryan said next to me, probably noticing my mood change.
"This is gonna be the perfect Christmas with the perfect tree, babe", I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"I just mean that maybe we don't have to-
Ryan was interrupted by the man in front of us.
"Well here we have the rest of the trees", he said, pointing at a few trees standing bleakly in front of us, "I let you two alone now, so you can choose."
And with that said he was gone.
"He really is kidding, right?", I asked staring at the measly trees.
"There's a good one", Ryan said, looking at a normal sized tree, which actually looked pretty good.
"Yeah, let's just take that one", I said, already making my way over to the tree.
This is gonna be the tree, the closer I came the bigger the tree got and actually I was kinda happy we saw this one.
"This is gonna be the perfect tree!", I said, smiling bright. I laid my hand on the tree trunk and grinned over to Ryan.
"I'm sorry, sir", a woman suddenly said next to me, "could you please move aside, this is already our tree, I'm sorry."
"What?", I asked.
"This is our tree", she repeated again.
I pressed my lips together, not wanting to let any curse words out and just walked to Ryan again.
"Aren't we taking the tree?", he asked.
"Already taken", I said through gritten teeth.
"Oh."
"Yeah, oh! I wanted this Christmas to be perfect with you! Why isn't anything working here?!", I asked, throwing my hands in the air.
"Its alright bren", he said.
"No! Don't you want a perfect Christmas?", I asked loudly.
"The only thing that can make this Christmas perfect is you", he said, "Im happy when were spending time together, we don't need a big Christmas tree, just us."
"Really?"
"Really. And by the way I think a small tree is a lot cuter", he chuckled, looking at a tiny tree next to us.
"This one?", I asked.
"I like it and our room won't be so full with a small tree", he said.
"Alright, well then, let's have a small Christmas tree for this year!", I said, hugging him tight.
"Yup, this already feels like Christmas", he chuckled.
And I guess Ryan was right, it wasn't the bright decor, the perfect Christmas tree or whatever. It was the person you spend the day with, and only this makes it the perfect Christmas....
