the rest of the bubble tea session went by smoothly despite jaemin putting jeno into a slight gay panic.

though they both had a small disagreement over what got7 song was superior (jeno said it was stop stop it and jaemin argued saying it was if you do), it all went okay.

and because the shop was closing, jaemin and jeno had to leave and go somewhere else. they actually were. oth confused to why the shop was closing only to realize it was eight o'clock at night.

time just wooshed right on past them lime usain bolt or whatever his name was.

"so, where're we going?" jeno asked once they got outside, pushing his glasses up before stuffing his hands in the pockets of his coat.

"we're going airplane emoji to the park!" jaemin replied happily beginning to skip in the direction of the park, god his happiness really did make jeno's heart flutter.

the park at eight o'clock was nice though, the street lights reflected off the river it was next to and the soft blow of the wind made the trees sway. as generic as that sounds, that's what jeno thought of it.

even better was the basketball court that was beside the the playground. his eyes lit up when he saw the street lamps finally alive and the court was nice and bright.

grinning, jeno took one of his hands out of his pockets and grabbed jaemin by the wrist and began to softly pull him to the court.

jaemin on the other hand was confused by the action. "jeno? what's wrong?"

"nothing's wrong, nana! i'm just happy that they finally fixed the basketball courts lights." jeno's voice was laced with excitement and jaemin undoubtedly found it cute.

"they were broken before?"

jeno nodded before he finally reaching the middle of the court with jaemin. letting go of jaemin's wrist momentarily, jeno ran over to a specific bush and kneeled down, digging around in it a little before finally finding what he was looking for.

the honey haired boy was in the middle of the court simply watched him with his arms crossed and a small smile on his face.

wasn't long till that smile disappeared when jeno finally turned around with a large orange in his hands, a happy look on his face. "i can finally teach you how to play bball! with the street lights lit like this, i'll be able to see what i'm doing. whenever jisung, mark, renjun, and i used to play out here, we'd always be hitting each other in the face cause we couldn't see."

jaemin pursed his lips as jeno walked to him while bouncing the basketball. "jeno- jeno i don't think basketball is fit for me. even if you teach me, i'll just mess it up." the younger frowned.

jeno offered jaemin a gentle smile as he stopped bouncing the ball and held it in between his arm and upper torso, using his unoccupied arm and hand to pinch jaemin's cheek.

"you'll be fine. and besides, it's not too hard once you get the hang of it." jeno reassured. "you think i was good starting out? oh my god jaemin, it was a disaster. but my dad always taught me how to play and with a little practice, i was able to dash around the court tossing oversized oranges into hoops."
