Here we were, standing inside of the crowded airport on December 24th of all fucking days. This was the most crowded I've ever seen this airport be. People were rushing to get home on short notice or waiting for their family members to land. But here I was, upset and waiting for my friends to head back to Boston.

"Hey.. don't cry..." I said softly as I held on to both Julia and Bria, "After we're done with everything here... Jack and I are gonna be in Boston...right Jack?" I asked looking back at Jack.

Jack nodded with a soft smile.

"See? We will be reunited in no time! We just have to find out what happened to Evelyn... alright?" I told them.

"I'm just so happy for you. I'm going to miss you." Bria sniffled, pulling away and wiping away any smudged makeup from under her eyes.

"I don't cry... not for this. Ugh. I'm going to miss you too." Julia gave in, giving me another hug.

These two girls have been through hell and back with me and I love them both dearly. Sometimes I miss them both so much that I almost wish Boston life would have worked out like originally planned so I could always be with them, But then again, if that were the case... that would mean that Jack and I would have never have got back together and got married. It's pretty clear that everything does happen for a reason.

"I love you guys... I'll be home sooner than you guys know!" I reassured.

"Take care of our Amby." Julia told Jack.

Jack nodded and Julia sighed, wiping away her tears. I watched as her eyes shifted over to the line of people waiting to board the plane they needed to both catch to get back home to Boston. She ran her fingers through her wavy hair and sighed again nodding at Bria that it was time to go. Bria nodded back slightly and looked over at me. She gave me a weak smile before pointing over to the line with her thumb.

"I guess this is goodbye." Bria stated dully.

"Not goodbye. More like... see you later." I corrected.

I always hated "goodbye" I only ever said that if I meant that I was done seeing someone for good.

"Catch you on the flip side?" Bria asked with a wink.

"You know it." I giggled.

"Boston better look out when you're back." Julia joked.

"That's an understatement." Jack mumbled.

I rolled my eyes and looked back at him, "See this pretty ring on my finger? that means I'm a behaved gal now."

Jack wrapped his arm around my waist, "To an extent."

Bria and Julia smirked as they casually strutted away. I frowned and sighed, looking up at Jack who gave me a weak smile, knowing that I was upset and obviously going to miss the two most important women in my life. My best friends. Jack took my hand and we walked hand in hand out of the airport and even held hands while Jack drove us to one of Detroit's biggest malls to do some Christmas shopping together since it was Christmas eve.

I bit my lower lip as I stared out the passenger door side window, watching the snow fall softly on the already snowy and icy ground. I could hear Jack singing along to the music on the radio quietly under his breathe. I turned my head and watched as Jack tapped the steering wheel, singing along to Seether and Amy Lee's "Broken".

"...I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away..." Jack sang quietly staring straight at the road, not noticing that I was smiling at him as I watched him sing.
