After Green and his guppy, Fowler left. I decided to head back upstairs and shower and get ready for whatever it was we were doing today. After I was showered and ready I went back into mine and Jack's room, sitting on the floor Indian style, applying my makeup. Jack made his way into the room and sat down on the bed, just staring straight ahead at me. I looked at him in the mirror and gave him a weird look.
"Yes?" I asked with a smirk.
"What are you doing?" Jack asked dully.
"My makeup...?" I replied confused.
"Oh." Jack replied looking away.
I sat up straight and took a deep breathe before looking back at Jack over my shoulder, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Jack replied immediately, running his hand through his hair.
"Are you sure?" I asked carefully.
"Yeah.... I ordered pizza." He replied sitting up straight.
"Pizza? this early?" I asked cocking an eyebrow.
"You love pizza." Jack stated in a matter of fact like voice.
"Thanks for that captain obvious." I chuckled as I stood up and walked over to Jack, standing in front of him.
Jack put his hands on my hips and pulled me down on top of him as he fell backwards on the bed. I placed my hands flat on his chest and stared down at him, a huge grin across my face as we just stared at each other. Jack finally cracked a familiar, loving smile of his before kissing the tip of my nose softly. I pecked my lips against Jack's and returned to staring down at him. Jack lifted his head off of the bed and crashed his lips on mine, kissing me softly. For the next few minutes we continued to make out until the doorbell rang.
"Jack! pizza guy is here!" Bobby called out from downstairs.
I pulled away from Jack and sighed, "Your pizza is here."
"You mean your pizza is here." Jack corrected.
"Mine?" I asked suspiciously.
"I got it for you. Grab my wallet and go pay for it please. I gotta go take a piss." Jack replied as I rolled off of him and sighed, grabbing his wallet and the both of us leaving the bedroom.
I jogged down the stairs, nodding at Bobby and Angel who were sitting on the couch in the living room staring at me as if they were waiting for something to happened. Confused and awkward... I decided to not say anything and just go answer the door. Once I was in the porch, I sighed and opened the front door, paying for the small pizza and went back inside of the house. It was unlike Jack to order not enough food for everyone. Feeling awkward, I set the pizza box down on the counter and sat at the table awkwardly watching Sofie cook.
"Whatcha making?" I asked dully.
"A fancy dinner for Angel and I. He promised we'd have dinner together tonight." She explained.
I nodded, "Ahh... I see."
"You going to eat your pizza?" Sofie asked as her eyes shifted over to both Angel and Bobby who had just walked into the kitchen.
Suddenly I became shy, "Nah... you guys can have it."
Bobby and Angel both looked at each other and chuckled at my response, making me even more confused than I already was. Jack walked in and looked down at the pizza box and then over at me with one of his eyebrows raised.
"You gonna eat?" Jack asked staring down at me.
"Not right now." I yawned.
"Why?"
"I'm just not that hungry." I replied.
"Seriously?" Jack asked.
"Yes? is that hard to believe or something?" I scoffed.
"No. I just know you love pizza." Jack became defensive.
"I'm sure I'll love it just as much when I do get hungry." I replied snidely.
"Is it because we're all watching you?" Jack asked raising an eyebrow.
Suddenly I became embarrassed and at a loss for words. Was is that obvious that I'm slightly way too socially awkward to eat alone in front of a bunch of people? Call me weird but it's extremely fucking awkward eating in front of people who aren't eating as well. I didn't know whether to ignore his comment or to laugh and play it off as if I didn't care. I did care. A lot. Fuck you Jack. Way to throw me under the bus.
"No?" I questioned clearly offended.
"Then eat." Jack nodded towards the closed pizza box.
I stood up and shook my head, "Fine.. i'll have a slice. are you happy now? Jesus."
Diiiiiiiiiick move Jack. Dick move.
I pressed my tongue against my cheek as I sighed deeply and walked over to the counter where the pizza was sitting. I grabbed the box and looked around at everyone, "You sure none of you want a slice? I'm starting to feel like Hansel and Gretel... none of you are eating."
"That's because they're waiting for me to be finished cooking." Sofie explained as she stirred whatever was boiling in a pot on the stove.
Carelessly, I placed the pizza box down on the table and took a seat, "Seriously you guys... I feel like you guys are about to fatten me up and stick me in the oven or some shit."
I laughed at my own joke, "Nice."
"Did you just nice your own joke?" Jack asked sitting down on a chair next to me.
"You would too if you could tell jokes" I replied before pausing and smirking, "Nice..." I added with a chuckle.
I opened the pizza box while I stared at Jack and glared suspiciously at him as he was now staring directly at me. Hell, everyone was.
"And furthermore, is there a reason you ordered pizza so early in the day and none of you are eating it? Did I do something? Is this poisoned? What kind of pizza is it? Why didn't you just ask me first if I was even hungry-" I continued to shoot off questions.
I turned my head towards the pizza box and picked up a slice. "Hey look guys... I'm about to take a bite. Watch this actually be poisoned or some shit and I fall to the floor like fucking snow whi-"
I stopped my blabbing as I did a double take at the now opened pizza box and read what was written on the inside of the box; ' Will you marry me? ' was written in Jack's writing on the inside of the box. My mouth went agape as I dropped the slice of pizza and slowly turned my head from the pizza box over to Jack's direction. My jaw dropped even farther as he sat beside me, his elbows rested on his knees as he held a ring in his hand. Before I could stutter anything out, Jack stood up, leading me with him. He got down on one knee and looked up at me.
"Will you marry me?" He asked in his deep voice.
My cheeks flushed red, a lump formed in my throat as I stared down at Jack. This was really happening. Finally. For once in my entire life I was speechless. I nodded like an idiot, stunned from what was happening. Jack stood up and stared at me in my eyes as he grabbed my left hand and brought it up. He slipped the ring on my ring finger. I gulped as I looked over at Sofie who was tearing up in awe while Bobby and Angel both had huge smiles across their faces.
"Let's do it now." He stated causing me to raise an eyebrow.
"Well... not at this moment.. but this weekend.. I've already contacted the J.O.P... it'll be small but it'll be legal." He explained as I nodded, still remaining silent.
"O-Okay." I stuttered and smiled nervously.
Jack picked me up by my waist, lifting me off of the ground. I wrapped my arms around his neck and my legs around his waist. Roughly pressing my lips on Jacks as I began to cry. Sofie, Bobby and Angel all rushed over to us, pulling us all in to a huge group hug as I pulled my face away from Jack's and nuzzled it into his neck, trying to hide my tears of joy and excitement.
"You're gonna officially be a Mercer!" Bobby exclaimed patting Jack on the shoulder and rubbing the top of my head.
I was legit about to marry my best friend this weekend...
