Jack rushed through the emergency doors, Brendan's arm over his shoulder as Jack was supporting him as he limped as fast as he could inside. No one had helped Jack back at the gas station, leaving Jack no choice but to put Brendan into Jack's car and drive him to the hospital himself. Brendan was making gurgling noises as he continued to gasp for air.

"Can we get some help please! Help!" Jack exclaimed as nurses and two doctors ran over to them, putting Brendan down on a bed instantly. "Brendan, buddy, can you hear me? It's Jack, we're at the hospital now, the doctors are gonna fix you up alright? I'm gonna call your girlfriend, mom and brother right now okay?"

"Get an air way open! Create an airway!" A doctor shouted at his crew as they wheeled the bed away.

"He was cut! Someone cut him!" Jack explained frantically as he watched his best friend choke on his own blood.

"Sir can you please back up. Back up." The nurse demanded, placing her hands on Jack's shoulders and shoving him out of the way.

"We're not from here.. we stopped here to pick up his girlfriend and family. We're from Detroit." Jack said in between breathes.

"Sir you have to stay back though okay?" A male nurse exclaimed.

"Okay.. alright. He's gonna be fine anyway though right...?" Jack asked in high hopes. "He's my best friend... his girlfriend is pregnant."

It hadn't even been forty minutes since Brendan was rushed into surgery and Brendan's mother and little brother were the first to run through the doors, stopping at the front desk to ask where Brendan was. His pregnant girlfriend, Amy, following behind. Brendan's mother and brother, Luke, lived in Boston and since Brendan was on the road with Jack trying to pursue a music career with a band that didn't last together longer than three shows, Amy decided to go and stay here in Boston with Brendan's family.

Brendan's mom clung to Jack, pulling him into a hug as she noticed all of the blood all over Jack's shirt. Just before any of them could say anything, the male nurse who had told Jack to stay back earlier slowly approached them, pulling his medical cap thing off of his head as he shook his head from side to side, "I'm sorry.." was all the nurse was able to say before Amy fell to her knees screaming and crying in agony, Jack wrapping his arms around her.

Brendan was gone..

By the time Bria and I made it to the hospital, a few police officers were standing outside of Joe's room. Bria had to literally beg them to let her see him before they hauled him to a holding cell as he matched a description for something that happened earlier tonight. My stomach felt sick... why wasn't Billy here? Why wasn't Billy answering? Where was he..?

"Can you go see if you can find me the doctor that saw Joe when he first arrived?" Bria asked softly as we watched the police officers lead Joe in handcuffs down the hospital hallway. "...I want to hear it from him that he's okay. Joe didn't say much... I'm worried. He seems shook up about something."

"He did just get hit by a car Bria..." I said standing up from the plastic chair I was sitting on outside of the room Joe was in.

"Please..." Bria asked softly, her eyes falling to her feet.

"Alright... I'll head downstairs to the E.R and see what I can find out.." I replied reluctantly.

Bria nodded as she choked back tears, looking away from me before taking the seat that I had just been sitting in. An eerie feeling sunk inside of me as I slowly made my way to the elevator. I hated hospitals and I certainly hated this feeling inside of me right now. Why was Joe being brought to the police station... besides the fact that he matched the description from something bad that happened earlier tonight.. a robbery I think I heard the police say. Billy hadn't called, hadn't texted, hadn't shown up.. nothing.. What was going on?
