Five months later.....

"Hurry! It's another one!"yelled Felicity who was running outside to attack another rouge spinx.

I ran out the front door and a large animal with the body of a lion and the head of a pharoah lept at me.

I dodged and sliced open it's back. It roared in agony and disappeared in gold sand.

It's March 10th, ten days away from my birthday and supposed doom. I have been training for five months and learning more about Egypt.

My father, Ra has been speaking to me lately telepathically. He is going to arrive at my destined battle time, only to help against the son of an old enemy.

Apophis took millions of magicians, hundreds of gods to defeat. His son is only more powerful and wise, so we'll be having trouble with that.

The piles of sand left by the spinxes and leopards were nearly piled high around out large mansion. I wiped a bead of sweat off my brow and looked around.

The past few days, we have been fighting fearlessly against evading monsters. Mostly, it's because of my upcoming birthday.

I have been getting strange dreams, mostly cloudy and lost ones, or me staring at a ring that had droplets of blood locked in it and chaos screaming in it's features. I'd look up to see loved ones hanging by their wrists or throat, and being tortured past death.

No fatalities have been made, but it can only get worse by the day. Malcolm wanted to put a 24/7 barrier around the mansion, but it will only kill him. I don't have the knowledge of that type of magic yet, but I'm still learning. A part of me is trying to be awoken, and everyone had been trying to help. Its been hard, though.

Only my father and I can unlock that.

The Elden magicians have been working on ways to corrupt Aphraim, to be better prepared than the last battle. It left no fatal records, but dozens were missing after it's war.

My father and the gods, as an example. But of course they were found.

Malcolm walks to me with a weary and stressed expression. He had dark shadows under his beautifully silver eyes and I felt horrible for him.

My being techinacally a goddess is fine, but not being able to heal until I am fully awaken or awoken another part of me is hard on me, not to mention others.

Wounds from my fellow allies were healing slow and painless, but they were losing preparation on what is about to go down.

"You okay?"he asked. I sighed, rolled my eyes and groaned. "Stop asking me that. Go to take a nap, I can tell your getting grumpy. When was the last time you slept?"I asked.

He shrugged. "Last Saturday....."he said quietly. I yelped and dragged him back into the mansion to his room and pushed him on the bed. That has been twelve days without sleep!!!

"Go to sleep!!!"I screeched. He covered his ears and his eye lids fluttered close quickly. He shrugged to keep them open but failed as sleep washed over him.

I smiled and left the room, my arms swinging at the sides. My mom yelled something to me urgently and I literally sprinted so fast to her my feet barely touched the floor.

I forgot to say: I learned how to levitate... I wasn't surprised I was doing it while running.

She was tending to a person who's stomach was slashed by a spinxes claw. She waved to me frantically.

"He's not healing. I need you to try, he's losing blood quickly!"she yelled exasperatedly.

I frowned and my lower lip wobbled. She grabbed my shoulders. "You can do this. For us,"She said. I nodded and bent down to the boy who was panting heavily, and paling quickly.

I put my hands over his wounds and closed my eyes. I imagined the wound, all around, inside, and outside it healing.

A faint glow came from beneath my hands and I closed my eyes tighter, finishing it. Seconds later, he was fully healed.

My mother clapped and whooped. She led me to the other patients and asked me to heal them.

By the time I was finished, I was feeling faint and dizzy. I wobbled on my feet and was basically doing the floss. My mother led me to Malcolms room instead of mines.

I looked at her confusedly. "Why here?"I nearly slurred my words out, my eyes closing now and then and me drifting out of conscious.

She laid me beside him and put a finger on her lips. "If you heal him, you'll fall asleep fully without any dreams; I want him to protect you as well."she whispered. I looked at him. "Gee, thanks ma!"I half heartedly shouted.

He was sleeping peacefully, barely moving. I thought he would have been in a coma of it weren't for the light snoring and lifting of his chest.

I placed a hand on his forehead and healed him. A moment later he was full healed from all his wounds and I was knocked out like a baseball bat to my head.

My mother was right. No dreams, but I was sitting across from a man and I knew I wasnt awake but not sleep either.

I was traveling in the duat!

The man got up and kept his back to me. I stared at him.

"He will try to manipulate you, dear."he said. Suddenly, I knew what he was talking about. "How?"I asked.

He turned his face to me halfway, allowing me to see his ear and a corner of his eye.

"By using the thing you hate against you. The only person to be trusted is your mother. And..."he trailed off.

"Who?"I asked. He turned to me fully and I gasped.

"Me."

I was snapped awake, my neck cricking like a stick. I rubbed it and looked around.

"What's wrong?"asked Malcolm. He kissed my cheek to erasure me everything is okay. I leaned my head against his shoulder and sighed. "Lucid dreams..."I said.

He laughed remebering the song but stopping as soon as he saw I was serious. "About what?"he asked. I looked around and saw that it was still dark out- probaly 3:00am.

I shuddered at the rest of them, but this dream was much different. "I'd....rather not say."I said. He nodded and kissed my forehead.

"Go to sleep, I'll fight the dreams if they come."he said. I turned my head up to look at him and held a giggle. "With what?"I asked.

He seemed to be disbelieving at my words. "With my bare hands and a khopesh, of course!" I laughed to him and drifted off to sleep, him humming my favorite song.

Roslyn-by Bon Iver and St. Vincent...
