I grabbed the sheets as I woke up, feeling for Malcolm.
But he wasn't there.
The quiet but tense uproar in the mansion made me jump out of bed quickly and force open my eyes, pushing away the sleepiness. "What's wrong?"I asked a fellow ally who looked angry and confused.
"Malcolm. He's missing. We think he is heading to the destined area of out first destination: The Nile River, where the goddess of hunting lives."he said and jogged away.
My mother came from a door and threw me a bag that had clothes and items I needed in it. "What's going on?"I asked as she dragged me on without a word. "Traveling."she said simply and breathlessly, walking out of the door into the warm afternoon.
Portals of sand was swirling near a sculpture of the God Thoth, and my mother pushed me through. I screamed and landed facedown in water that was unclean and murky. "Come on..."my mother whispered and pushed her way through the thick water's.
"Why are you being so quiet?"I asked as she stepped in hot sandy land, taking off her shirt. "We are meeting a few gods and goddess for help. They'll help of course, especially against Aphraim, as his father killed so many of their own. And they'll help you, as you are the daughter of Ra."she said and we approached a woman that was sitting crossed legged on trampled grass and humming something, bees crowding around her.
She opened her eyes and smiled at me. "My my, you look so much like your father. Get over here, sit down. We have a couple days left for that other conspiracy!"she said, laughing.
I walked slowly and cautiously to her, mostly because of the bees that buzzed around me. The goddess looked at me curiously and tilted her head. "Why are you here so early?"she asked, not directed to me.
My mother bowed at her feet. "Neith. My....friend has disappeared and Chike seems to need more training. Just sneaking, you know."she said. Neith nodded and stood up.
"In order for you to learn, you must learn by trying. You do it over, and"over until your idea of what to do is correct and you can do it properly. Not Like me, no one is like me."she said, smirking.
I stood up and nodded. "How do we start?"I ask. She looks at the sky and bites her lip. "Now. You have five minutes to run far away. You can't die being a goddess, but you wil be harmed for a long time. Hide, and if I find you you must fight me. Then we switch positions. Easy? Right, go!"she said,"closing her eyes and her brownish orange aura brightened around her.
I ran away at full speed, dodging her weaved traps. "How did I do that?"I said below my breath so no creature with sensitive ears could hear. I hung myself up a tree branch, pulling myself up to a curled position. The winds and the sensation of something sharp going through my skull spreaded throughout me but I remained still. Minutes later after the sensation and aura left I dropped from the tree and looked around to see her staring at me with an arrow knocked in her bow.
"Lets dance, shall we?"she asked and the arrow flew towards me, slashing my ear. I cupped it and kicked away her flying daggers that she shot at me took out my own, cutting her bow but only a piece of wood came off. She stared at it in disbelief and dropped it. "You fight like a girl!"she said before muttering a spell. "Ha- wi!"she said holding her hand to me like a gun and a orange fist flew to me. I jumped out of it's way and she groaned in frustration. Her leg kicked my arm and I punched her chest, throwing her off balance.
Her long staff buzzed with energy, or more like bees, and she swiwng it around in the air. She muttered a spell and her herd of bees came to me angrily. I swatted at them and a gold, flaming staff came into my hands. My aura became too hot to be near and insects of all types burned, melting with a smell of utter disgustingness.
Neith stared and took a step back. Large sphinxes lept behind her and she swing her staff in quick circles, smacking me everywhere with a pain that came from magic. Her sphinxes blew gusts of fire that I was immune to and I took out my khopesh, slicing them to dust.
"Fine. You win. But tommorow will not be as easy as today. Hunt me, as it is my turn."she said and walked away, sinking deep into the Nile river.
My senses took over me and I looked around for her, tracing her aura. "North...."I muttered and ran to where she was. She sat down at the very end of the trailing river that was miles away. I crouched and stood in place, waiting to catch her unprepared.
She wiped away caked mid on her fingers and bended her head down, applying it to her cheeks. I jumped to her with agility and gracefullness, catching her unprepared as I thought. She squirmed in anger and defeat as I sat oo her chest. "You've done well for day one."she said. She raised an eyebrow. "Maybe Bast could improve you."she said moving back to her kingdom where my mother sat, making soup and cutting up fruit. "Who's hungry?"she asked.

A large and cold texture touched my arm and I rolled over. "Mom, five more minutes..."I said. It nudged me again and snorted that sounded very unhuman. "Mom?"I asked, sitting up and turning to the thing nudging me.
Instead of seeing my bright mother, I saw a dragon staring at me with wide eyes before I screamed.
