Human!Dean & Human!Cas, college AU
***Cas' POV***
I sat in the corner of the local Starbucks and tried my hardest not to pass out. Today was the day. The day I would finally meet the love of my life.
I lived in Washington and Dean lived in Kansas when we first "met" through my cousin, Gabriel. He told me that he knew a great guy that I should consider talking to. So, I found the guy on Facebook and we immediately hit it off.
Now, five years later, I was a junior at Stanford University and his brother was starting here next year, so of course Dean followed him to California.
I clung to my coffee like a life preserver as I watched the door, waiting for Dean to walk in. Then, I saw him and my heart stopped. He was even more beautiful in person. Five years of pictures and video chatting hadn't done him justice. And it surely did prepare me for the brightness of his green eyes.
I stood up and he saw me. His face brightened and he hurriedly crossed the room and pulled me up into his arms and began peppering my face with kisses. "Oh my God... you're real. Cas, baby, you're actually real. And you're here and I can't handle this happiness."
I chuckled and pressed my lips softly to his. The kiss was sweet and slow and perfect. I instantly felt at home in his arms.
After a few minutes of just holding each other in the Starbucks he grabbed my hand and asked if I wanted to get going. I nodded and we headed out to his impala with interlocked hands.
When I got into the car I braced myself for classic rock to pour out of the speakers. Dean had an obsession with it but I could never get into it. So I was very surprised when he turned the car on and an Eminem song started. I gave him a questioning look.
"I bought the last Relapse CD. Was it a good choice?" Dean asked.
"It was ehh. you surprise me more and more everyday, Dean Winchester." He pull my hand up to his mouth and pressed a soft kiss into my palm.
After about thirty minutes of driving we pulled into a dirt parking lot that was empty except for us and Dean parked the car. "Please tell me our date isn't going to take place here."
Dean chuckled and pulled a backpack off of his back. "No, it's just a little walk from here."
After twenty minutes of hiking through over-grown blackberry bushes and sticky mud (in new shoes, might I add) we reached a small clearing with an itty bitty creek flowing through. It was beautiful.
Dean pulled a blanket out of the back pack and smoothed it onto the ground. He motioned for me to sit down, I did and then he sat next to me. He then began pulling food out of the bag and handing my half to me. When he was done we both had a liter bottle of Pepsi, a pb&j sandwich, a big bag of blue doritos, and a Tupperware with cut pineapple.
He looked down at his sandwich sheepishly. "I'm sorry if it's kind of lame... I had to do this off of a mechanics salary."
I leaned over and kissed him. I wished I could spend all my time kissing Dean. Let me tell you, going five years without kissing the person you love just fucking sucks. "It's perfect, Dean. I couldn't ask for anythingmore."
