Sam and Dean waited patiently for Kara to begin talking. Although they wanted her to hurry up so they could help her, both of them knew that these things were not to be rushed.

Kara took one last deep breath in, and then started to tell her, to be honest, quite unbelievable story.

"Since as long as I could see, I remember my mother's eyes changing colour. Never as quickly as the day she died, but the would change nonetheless. Sometimes they would be her natural brown, but other times they would flash between bright blue, red, and even fully black."

"Sorry to interrupt," Sam interrupted, in a voice that implied he was not sorry at all. "Did you say fully black?"

Dean's eyes widened as he realised what Sam was implying. His brother thought that Cassie might have been a demon. Or at least a demon at one point in time during Kara's childhood.

"Well, yeah."

"Tell me, when your mother's eyes went full on black, did you smell anything strange? Like rotten eggs?"

"Yeah, I guess."

Now Sam knew that Cassie, at least during one point in her life, had been a victim of demonic possession. What he could do with this information, however, he did not yet know.

"Interesting. Sorry for interrupting. Continue."

"Anyway," Kara continued. "With my mother's strange eyes, and the mood swings that came with them, I always thought that there was something not normal about her. About us."

A vivid image resurfaced in Kara's mind momentarily. A golden eyed girl staring back at her in a mirror.

"My suspicions that something was not normal about me came to pass when I was very young. My mother had taken me to the local thrift shop. She had found a nice dress, and had gone into the fitting rooms to try it on.

"I was still in as pram at the time, and so because the change rooms were small, I was left just outside, in the corridor. I remember feeling this strange, well, something that I would now call a strange surge of power.

"It felt, in that moment, like I could do anything. Like I could end the world, or create a new one entirely, by simply snapping my fingers. My whole body felt like it was on fire, but submerged in freezing water at the same time. It felt like I could fly, if I wanted to.

"And that's when I heard the scream. The attendant behind me, who screamed was looking into the mirror at the far end of the hall. The same mirror I was staring into. My eyes had turned a fabulous gold colour. They looked like power. Pure, untapped power."

Sam looked at Dean with confusion, and Dean returned the favour. Both the boys knew of a creature who had immense power whose eyes glowed a gold colour when that power was used. They had one back at the bunker. Castiel's adopted son. A Nephilim.

But Kara couldn't have possibly been the result of an angel and a human. Dean was definately human, at the time, and if Cassie had have given birth to a Nephilim, then she would have died in childbirth, not yesterday.

Right?

Neither of the brothers took any notice of the rest of what Kara said. Or the rest of their meeting with her altogether. Before they could continue with this case, they would need to talk with a friend who would have some answers. Castiel.

~ I am legitimately shooketh that I am getting more reads. Lmao. I know the chapters are short, but I train 4 days a week and play my sport competitively 2 days a week, so unless you guys want minimal updates (probably far apart), short chapters it is lol. Feel free to message me or vote or whatever. Idk tbh. And I had a few ideas about stuff I could do with this story, but I'm terrible with names, so if you want your name to be in it, or have any name ideas, message me and I'll see what I can do. No promises tho lol. Hope you're enjoying! -T
