Drives off to a destination have been on her calendar occasionally. Schedules require long hours of roadtrips and flights to be able to reach out to people through performance, shoots or interactions. The journey and the destination, however, are equally important for her.
Most especially now, with him.
While the road ahead of them stretches, the more facts she has been writing down about him at the back of her mind. It was as if she was talking to her mirror; they adore similar things, activities and people. They have the same taste in music, and are prepping for their goal to be full-fledged song writers. G-Dragon has been a topic for a fourth of their trip; the curious fan Taehyung asked a lot about her dearest oppa, and how much they admired the genius that he is. They even jammed to Black, and that is when she realized their voices can clearly go well for a collaboration. And clearly, she thought, sajangnim won't allow this to happen.
After an hour and a drive thru, they finally reached the sea near the Kim family townhouse. The blues in the sky is slowly being kissed by the orange from the sun nearing the horizon. Jennie swooned after seeing the sight and feeling the beach breeze caress her skin. Taehyung can only admire the woman im front of her.
She sat on the hood of the car facing the sea. He assisted her up until her back is near the window, before getting their takeout food and sitting beside her. Mesmerized, they both stared at the setting sun.
Instinctively, he wiped the window behind her using the tissue he brought so she can lean on it if she wants to. She can only bite the insides of her cheeks to prevent her smile to show.
"When did you start loving sunsets?" He leaned on the window of the car before looking at her. She was still staring at the sun, with the gummy smile still striking her face.
"I can hardly remember, honestly. It just feels like home to me."
Sunsets always reminds her that everywhere she goes, she was safe. She could not remember when it all began, but she always thinks that her mother bringing her to places with good views of the sunset whether in New Zealand or Korea was the tyical bond they had. Especially because travel had been their companion to somehow remove the unpleasant memories that they had.
Sunsets show beautiful endings and thrilling beginnings. The darkness that comes after it does not make her feel afraid or lonely, but anticipating of what's in store of her now and tomorrow.
Maybe what she has for Taehyung right now is similar to what she feels for the sunset.
Is this really a thrilling beginning? Or a beautiful ending?
An ending to what? Their curiosity on each other?
Will there even be a beginning? Was she expecting one?
She looked at him, but unknowingly to her, he had been staring for too long. He saw her muse about something he was not aware of, but it showed: she was worried.
But still, she is beautiful.
"Why?" She chuckled. "Is there something wrong with my face?"
"Jennie." He whispered to the wind, but she heard. The chills down her spine spread all over her body. She smiled, awaiting for what he should say next. The longer he stared at her, the more his smile slowly shows on his face. "I'm glad I met you."
Some of his hair has been blocking his eyesight because of the wind. Unconsciously, she swept his bangs up to meet his eyes, to check if he was sincere. When eventually she realized what she did, she giggled, embarrassed. His smile reached his eyes.
