Jughead smiles softly as the memory, picking up head up causing his beautiful green eyes to land on the gravestone.
"Sounds like you really loved her." Veronica smiled saying in a gentle voice,
Jughead nodded feeling his eyes start to water, "More than anything."
Veronica glanced at both Betty and Archie, "So uhm, if it's okay do you mind me asking what happened to her?"
Jughead made eye contact with her coffee eyes, "She went missing, we had to bury an empty casket. Don't know if she's alive or not but.. it is what it is."
Veronica's lips parted in disbelief, she's been in Riverdale for approximately forty eight hours and there was already so much history built in this town,
"I'm so sorry, all of you seemed to be close with her." Veronica spoke smiling sadly,
Jughead nodded looking down, "Thank you Veronica, I'll see you guys at school tomorrow yeah?"
The three of them nodded watching the beanie clad boy walk out of the cemetery, Veronica sighed crossing her arms, "How close were you guys with her?"
Archie scratched the back of his neck, "Betty and I were no where near as close as Jughead was with her, poor guy fell in love with her."
You smiled resting your head on Jughead's shoulder watching his continue to type on his laptop,
"Boo get a room." Kevin groaned tossing a grape at you before breaking into a smirk,
Jughead rolled his eyes while you stuck your tongue out at the chuckling boy, "Oh hush says the one that was practically swallowing a serpents tongue outside the gate this weekend."
Kevin nodded picking up his tray, "Touché, alright, I'll see you guys tonight"
You giggled waving Kevin goodbye before focusing your attention back onto Jughead, he shut his laptop looking back at you.
"So Rebel Without A Cause sounds good to you?" He asks swinging his bag to his side,
You nodded releasing his arm from your grip, he pressed his lips to your cheek getting up, "I'll see you tonight yeah?"
You nodded once again, "Yeah."
He smiled resting a hand on your cheek, "I love you."
Betty nodded twisting the end of her blonde ponytail, "Problem was that she was damaged, lived in a broken home but always came to school causing everyone but herself to smile."
"Oh cry me a fucking river Y/N/N!" Your mother spat in your face, "You don't know how this affects me huh? I gave you all this fucking freedom and you throw it away like that?"
It was a Sunday night, you had tried taking your life and your mother found you in the bathroom spilling pills into your Y/S/C hands. That's when your mother, that you thought had loved you, slapped you across the face.
You held your bruising cheek, your eyes going fuzzy seeing all the alcoholic beverages fade away.
You shook your head, "You know what Mom? I'm done."
You Mother cackled, "What the fuck do you mean you're done?"
"I mean I'm done with this bullshit! I'm taking Cassidy and Ryan and we're leaving." You shouted back at her,
Cassidy was your baby sister that your mother had given birth to about a year ago, right after your father had left her. Your father was trying to build a better life so he can take full custody of you and your siblings. Ryan was your other little brother, he was about 6 years old when all this chaos started.
Your mother's face grew with anger, "NO! You aren't fucking leaving me like your father did, all of you are staying here!"
Later that night, you called your father and explained everything that had happened. He agreed to letting you and your siblings come a bit earlier than expected. You packed up their bags and slipped out the door, Cassidy in your hip and Ryan holding your hand helping carry bags.
Climbing into your father's car, you thiught this would be a new beginning, a better one.
Archie felt his stomach bounce, "I remmeber watching her climb into the car, a navy blue honda."
Betty sighed, "She was always concerned about everyone but herself, always took care of her siblings as if she was the mother, got a job working at Pop's to help her father pay the bills, but she was always suffering. We never did anything to help."
Archie's hand glossed over the stone, "She'd arrive at school with the hugest bags under her eyes, she'd nearly fall asleep during class I... I don't know how we missed how much she was hurting."
Veronica gently rubbed her hand on their shoulders, "Seems like she was an amazing friend, she's in a better place, happier."
Betty nodded wiping her eyes, "I hope so, Jughead's reaction was heartbreaking."
"What the fuck are you talking about? I just talked to her this morning she-she's fine!" Jughead scowled,
Archie shook his head causing more tears to fall onto his face, "I mean it man they can't find her, they've been searching for hours."
Jughead's chest starting to puff in and out, his eyes starting to spill with tears. Hushed sobs ringing throughout his body, his pulse radiating into Archie's hug.
Jughead was never the same, he didn't make sarcastic comments as much, he didn't smile or smirk, he wasn't the same Jughead. He could only think about how he could've been there to hold you, to protect you.
Archie ran his fingers through his red locks turning around, Betty tilted her head watching Jughead practically racing back into the cemetery.
"Jughead?" Veronica questioned adjusting her necklace,
Jughead looked at all of them at once, "They found her."
