|~Chapter Thirty-One~|
Jeremy laid limp on the ground. If only I was a vampire I could telling if his heart was still beating. As I slowly sat next to him, tears began to slowly streak my skin.
"Klaus...can you hear his heartbeat?" I asked him looking up. Klaus looked as if he concentrating to listening for his heart beat.
"I can hear it." He finally said. He kneeled next to me. "But just barely. There is finger marks all over his neck. Someone has strangled him." He bit his wrist and let the blood drip into Jeremy's mouth.
When he stopped it felt minutes went by waiting for Jeremy to wake up. When he opened his eyes, I finally breathed out. I grabbed him and hugged him. He looked dazed and a bit confused when I did so.
"What happened?" He asked when I pulled away.
Before I could answer, I was swept away to a desert looking area. There was barely any trees around me and the place looked like there hasn't been rain for years. I looked out to see a hurdling load of men on horses racing towards me. I had begun running away from them. They had begun taking aim at me and firing their guns. As I continued running, I tripped and fell on a old branch. As I laid on the floor, they all took aim and shot me. My whole body was covered in holes by the bullets, literally making me a fountain.
I was shaken back to reality by my brother, he was shouting my name. I blinked away the image and shuddered. That had to be one of the worst deaths I every had, partly I am sure I never did anything wrong.
"Jane? Are you ok?" Joey was asking me.
"Yes, yes. Fine." I tried to smile.
"We need to keep moving, the apple blew apart when you went off in a daze. We should keep going in that direction though." Angela said as I slowly stood up.
"No, we go this way. I am sure that's where Bonnie and Caroline are. I was with them before." Jeremy was on his feet. He had begun walking in the direction he was talking about.
"Ohh, Caroline, I bet your excited now." I smirked towards Klaus. He continue walking the way Jeremy was, pushing me on the ground on the way past. "Hey!"
"Oh sorry love, I thought you were a tree." He smirked back at me. I quickly stood up and carried on walking like nothing just happened. Angela caught up to me as we walking behind Jeremy.
We seemed to walk in silence. It was as if no-body dared to talk. In the near distance, we heard Jeremy being shouted.
"Bonnie!" Jeremy yelled at the top of his lungs.
"Jeremy?" The shout was getting closer. Out of the bushes came Bonnie and Caroline. Bonnie ran up to Jeremy and gave him a hug. Caroline just stared at Klaus, strangely enough he was staring back. Her stare then changed to Joey.
"Who are you?" She asked nicely towards him.
"I'm Joey, Jane's sister." Joey smiled. "What about you? What's your name?"
"Caroline, Caroline Forbes. Are you a witch too?" She asked him. They had stepped closer to each other now. I thought he had a girlfriend.
"Yes, warlock really. Us guys don't like the term witch. Vampire I am guessing?" Joey was totally trying to flirt with her.
"Yes, how could you tell?" She asked him back.
"You're too beautiful to be human." He flirted. I burst out laughing in response. Everyone turned to look at me. I covered my mouth and shook my head.
"Sorry, I couldn't help it. Anyways what next?" I asked everyone trying to change conversation. Everyone seemed to look from one to another in hope of an answer.
