I perched on the cold, marble edge of the fountain. Dally sat next to me with his arm slung over my shoulders and a lit cigarette in his free hand.

"What if Pony's right?" I asked.

"Jenny, he's not," Dally said.

"But what if he is? What if this is a stupid idea?" I exclaimed.

"He's completely wrong. That won't happen," he answered, staring into my eyes.

"How do you know?" I asked, still not convinced.

"Because..." Dally began,"because I can't lose you. I care about you too much to ever let you go."

He leaned in and kissed me. I immediately kissed him back. He had actually told me he cared about me. I sat there smiling like an idiot, caught in a sort of dazed happiness.

He released me, and being me, I fell backwards, into the fountain. The cold water splashed around me. For a second, I was shocked by how cold it was. It was freezing.

"Shit," I muttered, trying to pull myself out of the water. I was completely soaked. Dally took my hand and helped me up. He was pinching his face together, trying as hard as he could not to laugh.

He burst out laughing as soon as my feet reached the ground. I crossed my arms and glared at him while trying to stop shivering. Eventually I started laughing too. I guess it had been one if those funny moments.

"I have to go home," I finally said, still shivering. Dally noticed and wrapped his brown jacket around my shoulders. He took my hand and we walked out of the park.

"What happened to you?" Two-Bit asked as Dally and I stepped into the house. He was sitting on the sofa watching TV.

"She fell into the fountain," Dally answered, chuckling. Two-Bit started laughing. I glared at the two of them before walking down the hall to my bedroom, so that I could change.

I could hear the front door open and close, so I assumed that Dally had left. I dug through my drawers and pulled out an old pair of jeans and a blue shirt.
