"So, how've you been?" Pony asked as he, Johnny, and I walked back to the Curtis house after school.
"Good, I guess. How about you?" I asked. He shrugged his shoulders and continued walking on.
"How are things with Dally," he asked, trying not to sound too nosy. I could tell he still didn't like the idea of Dally and me possibly breaking up at some point, but I felt sure that wouldn't happen.
"Pony, everything's perfect between us," I answered, ending the conversation. He knew better than to question me any further at the moment.
I was truly happy when I was around Dally. He made me feel like I actually mattered to someone. I knew he cared about me, and I cared about him too. I loved him.

"I'm just saying, you don't know how everything will work out," Pony said as he took a seat next to me on the lumpy couch. Apparently he hadn't given up on trying to convince me how bad an idea this was.
"You know what? Shut the hell up! This is none of your business!" I shouted, throwing my hands up.
"It is my business if it could affect me and the rest of the gang!" Pony said back.
"Pony, you're just a child! You don't know anything about relationships, so stay out of this!" I exclaimed. Johnny muttered something to Pony about leaving me alone. I grabbed my jacket and left the Curtis house, making sure to slam the door.
