(This story will be ending soon, I've lost motivation for this one. But a new one is in the works <3)

"This is all you found?" Joker sighed in annoyance.

"Sorry, boss. Everything else was destroyed in that warehouse fire." Frost explained.

It had been a couple weeks since their escape from Arkham. Scarlett had become acquainted with her surroundings, the place where Joker called home. Some thing's she was learning anew, others she was able to recall from whatever fragments of her memory were left.

And everyday that passed, Joker found himself falling deeper and deeper in love with her. There was just something in the way their skin tones matched, their shared history in Arkham, even their nose dive right into the pits of death that seemed to raise his heart beat. The clown was at odds with himself, struggling with his inner demonic self to try to make sense of the feelings.

He would try to convince himself that he felt no emotion, no attachment. No feelings existed for this girl, and yet, he knew deep down in the depths of his blackened heart, love began to sprout.

He rolled his eyes as he laid out the blueprint, a plan drawn meticulously himself, highlighting the exits and entrances as well as the many private passageways around the bank he had broken into two years ago. His eyes scanned the tiny words to the sides.

He felt his heart pounding at the words scribbled carelessly.

"June 24.." He read out loud. "The bank. Our heist..the fireworks." Joker muttered to himself. It all finally made sense to him. Frost listened intently, surprised at his boss's reaction. He'd never seen Joker so...vulnerable.

With a swipe of his arm, everything that was once on Joker's desk was thrown onto the floor. An angry growl ripped through his throat as Joker gripped his head and began to pull at the strands.

"FUCK!!"

Frost continued to watch his boss like a hawk. He knew better than to intervene or say anything during these outbursts.

"Fuck...I knew it. My memory's all...fuzzy..but," Joker waved his hands around his head, "but i just knew...i knew Frost.. I knew that story seemed familiar..."

"It ain't your fault, boss." Frost tried to say softly. But he almost regretted it when he felt his boss grip his sleeve.

"Of course it's my fault, you doof! Argh! Why do I even care?!" Joker exclaimed, pulling away from his subordinate.

"Um..." A quiet voice rang out suddenly, causing both men to turn their heads to the figure now standing at the door.

Joker's eyes softened and he continued to stand his ground. "Scarlett.." He breathed.

"I'm sorry but I couldn't sleep.." Scarlett said softly.

"It's 5 in the morning.." Joker muttered.

"I know, but I can't sleep.." She spoke in a low voice.

Joker looked at Frost and motioned with his head for him to leave. Frost immediately turned away and walked past Scarlett, closing the door behind him. Scarlett watched as the tall bearded man left and sighed.

Joker bent down and picked up a few of the loose papers that he had swiped to the floor and cleared his throat.

"Now, dollface, I think you and I need to have a word." He spoke in a gruff voice. Scarlett nodded and settled on a chair behind her. Joker organized the papers and placed them on the desk, walking towards Scarlett.
