I look outside the window of my thoughts and I notice the shadow of an innocent child.

She's someone that I've always known yet she's still a stranger.

Her shadow plays in the field of dreams and I can see the happiness in her gaze. A silly grin can be seen on her face.

Suddenly I see her grow into a person I wish I didn't know.

I watch her wake up from an innocent dream to the reality of cruel adolescence.

I see hope slowly leave her eyes and I hear her scream, I can see her lose her mind and conscience.

Reality struck her like lighting.

Now everyday is just a war she's fighting.

The bright smile on her face now hides the sorrow that lies beneath her brown eyes.

I can feel her heartache as her tears begin to fall.

I can see her fall down on her knees and pray to god to give her the ability to feel nothing at all.

Perhaps one day the colour of happiness in her eyes would recover.

That day her blackened heart would be filled again with joy and colour.
