Below I've listed some basic introductions and greetings to start a conversation, these are the same in, I think, all countries.
Remember that Informal (tú) is for friends/family/etc. and Formal (usted) is for strangers/your boss/acquaintances/etc. (Except in El Salvador where tú is used for foreigners' spanish and Vos is used informally)
Hola - Hello
Buenos días - Good morning
Buenas tardes - Good afternoon
Buenas noches - Good night
¿Cómo está (usted)? - How are you? (Formal)
¿Cómo estás? - How are you? (Informal)
¿Cómo están? - How are you all?
Bien - good/well/fine
¿Que tal? - How's it going?
¿Que pasa? - What's happening?
Nada mucho - nothing much
¿Y tú? - And you? (Informal)
¿Y usted? - And you? (Formal)
Bienvenidos - Welcome
¿De dónde eres? - Where are you from
Soy de... - I am from...
¿Cómo te llamas? - What's your name? (More common)
Me llamo... - My name is... (more common)
Mi nombre es... - My name is... (less common but you can still say it)
¿Adónde vas? - Where are you going?
Voy a... - I'm going to...
Hace tiempo que no te veo - It's been a while since I've seen you
¿Dónde has estado? - Where have you been?
¿Cómo te va? - How's it going?
Mucho gusto - Nice to meet you
