Thirty-One.
Addie’s POV
With the help of Harry, I let myself into Louis’s house. I found his bedroom at the end of the hall of the one-story house, and put my suitcase in the room. It’s a Sunday night, so Louis is over at Niall’s for movie night.
I can’t help but smile at Louis’s room, his dirty clothes on the floor and empty water bottles everywhere. His duvet is scrunched up on his bed, and he has two pillows askew at the top of the mattress. Before Louis arrives home, I decide to get myself familiar with the house so I know where all the bedrooms and bathrooms are. In total, there are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, with a decent sized kitchen and dining room that link on to the living room. There is a single black couch sitting in front of a television in the room, and several cups of forgotten tea sit on his coffee table.
Even two and a half months after he left, Louis still hasn’t learned to do dishes.
I take a seat on the couch and turn on the television, deciding to act completely normal when Louis gets home so he is even more surprised.
While I have this time to myself, I recap what happened.
Right after Louis left, I went into almost a trance, where all I did was work, eat, sleep, and more work. I finished high school with all A’s, and worked up enough money to get plane tickets here and still have tons left over.
For Louis’s birthday in December, we skyped for almost two hours. We both wished we were with each other of course but that wasn’t going to happen, until now. My birthday is the first of May, so I am glad Louis and I will get to celebrate it together.
Morgan got accepted into Florida University, where she’s wanted to go all her life, so after a long heartfelt goodbye she got on her plane and flew south. Honestly, I was more upset when Louis left because as soon as we reached junior year, Morgan has becoming more and more distant from me. I don’t mind though, we are still good friend. That reminds me, I need to make more friends.
I stayed in my room most of the time while Louis was gone, and after a while my parents just shrugged it off, but made sure I knew that they were always there for me.
While in my room, I worked on one thing and one thing only- my college application.
I had a sit down with both of my parents one day and talked long and hard about college, and we all came and decided that this was good for me and I should go for it, so I did.
I picked to major in journalism and started the application. I was determined to get into this college, and nothing was going to stop me. I used all my knowledge from all grades of school to fill out the application, getting references from people I worked with as well as people who know me. Jay worked on the application with me, as she went to the same college I applied to.
Doncaster College.
Everyone was in on this plan besides Louis. His friends assured me that it was a good idea to apply, and that even though he didn’t like to show it, Louis was absolutely gutted without me. Liam met me at the airport and directed me towards Louis’s house, unlocking the door for me with the spare key Louis hid behind a loose brick. Liam assured me that Louis would be home by midnight, and to just make myself at home. I was grateful for Liam and the rest of the boys; I don’t think I would be able to do this without them.
