Nineteen.

When Louis and I enter IHop, we take a seat at one of the booths and wait for a waiter to take our orders. We sit in silence and I stir my complementary water around with my straw, lightly sipping the liquid every once in a while. Louis just watches me the whole time, making me feel kind of self-conscious, but I’m used to it by now.

Most girls would be blushing and giggling at a boy such as Louis staring at them, but I was used to it. Not only has Louis treated me like this ever since I met him, but my past boyfriend used to also. I knew how to act around boys, I wasn’t completely clueless.

The waiter returns shortly and takes our order. Louis orders for me and himself, and lucky for me he ordered my favorite food at this restaurant.

“What do you want to do today?” Louis asks.

I shrug. “Whatever you want to do.”

“We could just walk around town?” Louis offers.

“That sounds great” I smile.

No, I don’t think Louis and I are going too fast. Like I said before, most couples are having sex or something at this point in their relationship, and I have known Louis for over two months and if he makes me feel this content all the time I don’t see what the problem is. I’ll tell my parents about all this when get the time, leaving out all the sleeping in the same bed details.

Soon enough, the waiter returns to our table with our orders. I quietly thank him and Louis nods at him in acknowledgement as I dig into my pancakes. Louis smiles at me as I basically bury my face in my meal.

At least an hour later, Louis and I are walking down the busy city street, hand in hand.

“Addie?”

“Yes?”

I turn my head and look into the store windows lining the streets, gazing at the objects in the windows.

“Um,” Louis runs his hand through his hair. “I was wondering if you wanted to- and you don’t have to- but if you wanted to um,”

“Spit it out” I interrupt him.

“Well my family is going to Los Angeles in almost a week, and I know that’s a week that you have school off, so I was wondering if you wanted to come to Long Beach with me while they’re in Los Angeles? I mean I know it’s a long trip but we’d be flying and my parents told me to invite someone and you’re the first person that came to mind and even though we haven’t known each other for a long time I feel like I’ve known you for years and-“

“Louis you’re rambling” I giggle.

“Sorry” Louis looks down.

“I’d love to go with you” I say.

“Really?” Louis looks over at my, his bright blue eyes ecstatic.

“Really” I smile. “I’ll run it by my parents which I’m sure they won’t mind, and we can go” I grin.

Louis beams at me and quickly leans forward and pecks me on the lips then returns to just smiling at me. I smile back at him and begin growing excited for the trip ahead of us.

“How about this one?” Morgan holds up a gold bikini that looks too small for anyone.

“No fucking way” Louis shakes his head.

Louis and Morgan both agreed to come shopping with me to get a new bathing suit and a few more essentials for our trip a few days after Louis asked me, and they have been arguing about bathing suits for over an hour.
