The clock reached twelve after the trip to the fountain and a quick bite over at a diner were crossed out of the list.
Currently, you were making your way to the place that gave lessons on Krav Maga, Pearl’s enthusiasm over learning what it was about making you smile.
All six of you had booked a quick beginner’s lesson to see what it was like, Pearl being the first one to begin, seeing as it was only fair given her ecstatic self. You all watched in awe as she managed to rapidly follow up to the instructions and repeat them with grace, the instructor’s compliments making for a faint, blue blush to cross her pale features.
One by one, everyone had their turn, until it was Amethyst's turn to spar.
You watched how she deflected and attacked her opponent, taking a few tries for her to get used to the coordinated steps that involved Krav Maga, but managing to overcome the challenge all the same. It was as if a switch had flipped on her the moment she stepped foot into the center of the practice room, determination settling over her expression and movements as she tried her best to sweep her opponent off her feet.
When she managed just that, the instructor -- who now laid on her rear -- blew the whistle, signaling her hour of training had come to an end.
You smiled at her when she turned away from the instructor and returned with the rest of the group, complimenting her for her achievement and high-fiving her afterwards.
“Your turn, (Y/n)!” Steven called, making you look towards his direction to see him and the instructor waiting with smiles on their faces.
You gulped down the tension when the awareness that it was time for you to spar came over you, the thought that you wouldn’t be able to do it falling upon you.

A few hours had passed since you finished with your Krav Maga lesson and not more than a few minutes since you left the fair, once more carrying a plushie in your hands due to Garnet’s odd obsession with the rhythm game.
Aside from it, you also carried a little bag of water housing a goldfish, a gift from Amethyst’s part for you having the courage to take the Krav Maga lesson despite not being able to defeat your opponent.
The instructor had made you tumble twice, yet you got back up thrice, despite not being able to make her tumble for a change. You’d been reluctant to take the fish given you hadn’t exactly accomplished something like she had, but she insisted by saying she’d seen your effort, and that she could accompany you tomorrow for another lesson -- in hopes you could obtain a re-match.
As a result, you ended up handing a dollar to the man behind the bottle game counter, using your only skill to make the bottles fall and gift her what you believed was most fitting out of all the prizes available -- a doughnut-shaped pillow with blue frosting and purple sprinkles.
“Thanks for the gift, (Y/n),” she spoke, walking with you out of the fair while you made your way back to the van. “I can’t wait to sleep with it tonight.”
You suppressed a laugh at her words, grinning at her.
The six of you eventually arrived at the van, mounting yourselves carefully before making your last stop for the day, this being the town Garnet had spoken about. The ride was only fifteen minutes long, although it felt a bit longer due to the worry that began to settle over you again, fearing you wouldn’t be able to speak with Amethyst again -- just like yesterday night.
“C’mon, (Y/n)!” Amethyst called, bringing you out of your thoughts.
All worries were set aside for the time being, the sight of the small, cozy-looking town unveiling itself before your eyes making you smile.
