Before going to any of the places you'd marked on the map, you went with Amethyst to the fountain for a second time. There, you did one of the few things you remembered doing as a child: throw a coin and make a wish the second you heard it plop in the water. She mimicked your actions, the only difference being that she threw in five coins instead of one.
"Why that many?" you asked, confusion present in your inquiry.
A playful smile tugged her lips upwards, her purple complexion brightening with your question.
"It's a secret," she replied, her words coming off in a joking manner.
She handed you one of the few coins left in her hand, placing it on your own and encouraging you to make another wish.
"Make another one, and make it about you this time."
Your eyes widened slightly when having her comment on that subject, feeling as if she'd read your mind with those words.
"Uh, thanks, but. . ." you trailed off on your words, taking the coin from her hand and twirling it in your fingers. "How did you know?"
"Worrywarts like you and Pearl tend to do that a lot," the purple Gem teased, snickering whilst looking up at you, a hand placed confidently on the side of her waist. "At least, that's what I figure about you two." She shrugged after those words, pointing with her head over to the fountain in wait for more coins. "Now go make a wish for yourself, you dork!"
She nudged your back in an attempt at helping you get there faster with a push, holding back a grin when seeing you trip after being rushed to arrive at the fountain. You held back the urge to send a glare her way, taking in a breath instead and closing your eyes afterwards.
Muttering a wish for yourself, you clenched your eyes tighter and let out the breath you were holding in. The sound of the coin hitting the water followed the second after you threw it towards the fountain, allowing you to open your eyes to see where it landed at.
"Wow," Amethyst exclaimed, voice hinting at awe. "You have a good aim, (Y/N)!"
You were caught by surprise yourself when seeing the coin had landed right at the center of the fountain - not an inch more and not an inch less. It was perfectly arranged at the center, making it seem as if it had been placed there rather than thrown.
Though it wasn't that big of reason for either one of you to celebrate, there was something about the tone of her voice and the glint of the coin being reflected by the sun that made you feel as if it was a moment to remember. The sensation made your wish feel all the more real to you, hope over it being fulfilled surging through your thoughts.
Ecstatic, you glanced a look back her way, smile becoming brighter when having her grin back at you.
Before you left to begin the last day of your trip together, you casted one last look over to the fountain, hope rising over you when seeing the coin still stand out at the center of the monument. You wanted your wish to come true as much as ever now - as childish as that seemed.

Hey guys!
First off, Happy New Year to everyone - I wish you all great, wonderful things and brand new opportunities for both this year and the ones following after it.
I apologize for the sudden, 2 month hiatus without warning. I was swamped with all sorts of projects, along with finals and work. This led me to run out of buffer chapters for this story, and put it on-hold as a consequence.
But I'm back now!
I hope to have another set of buffer chapters out soon so it takes no more than 2 more months to reach the end of this story.
Take care, everyone!
