The final day of your vacation finally arrived, though you’d only managed to get so much as four hours of sleep during the night. You were nervous knowing today you and Amethyst would be the ones to decide on what would be done for the day, and even more when you remembered the chore that awaited you the moment you returned to the daily routine of college and work.

Even so, you were more than happy to have had the chance to spend as much time as you had with them. Seeing Amethyst gradually open up to you was also something that made for you to feel happier, and you wanted to spend as much quality time with her as it was possible.

“Something on your mind, (Y/N)?” she asks, bringing you out of your thoughts.

“It’s nothing,” you reply, shrugging off her question with a smile. “I’m just. . . kinda nervous for today, y’know?”

You looked up from fumbling with your fingers and stood up from your bed, smoothing out some of the wrinkles before stretching and letting out a yawn.

“How long have you been up, anyway?” you inquire back.

“Around five minutes,” she replies. “I was gonna wake you up a little later, but you started movin’ around while I was just getting up.”

You gave a nod in response to her words, quickly making your bed and putting everything in its place. Once that was out of the way, you looked at the time displayed on the alarm clock provided by the hotel, seeing it was almost eight in the morning. Given most of the places you were going to visit opened up around noon, you had more than enough time to prepare yourselves and relax for a short while.

As a result, you made your way to the bathroom and went through a quick morning routine composed of brushing your teeth and washing your face. Then, you made your way back to Amethyst’s side, offering her to accompany you to the balcony.

She looked at you with a raised eyebrow, a hint of concern showing on her face before speaking up.

“Aren’t you gonna have breakfast first?” Amethyst questions, tilting her head slightly.

“I just. . .” you mutter, trailing off on your words and letting out a small sigh. “I can’t really eat right now since I’m so nervous.”

Your confession caused for an amused smile to tug her lips upwards, leading you to become wary of what was going through her mind. You observed the way she stood up from her own bed, not bothering to tidy up the bed first before walking to your side.

“Why don’t we make breakfast together, then?” she offers, gesturing with her eyes over to the small kitchen the hotel room provided. “Cooking’s a good way to open up your appetite.”

Surprised to have her make such a suggestion, it takes you a moment to formulate a response to her question, though you soon agree to her offer and follow her to the kitchen.

You begin searching for any ingredients and utensils you could use to prepare breakfast for both her and you, settling on making a batch of pancakes with the box left unopened on a corner of the fridge. You place it along with a few other ingredients on one of the two counters, using the other one to prep the bowl and spoon to mix everything together. She helps you by measuring everything by eye while you resort to mixing all the items together.

Midway into mixing the ingredients, you laugh when having her smear some of the mix on your nose, having swiped it from small spill that fell on the counter while adding everything into the bowl.

As you finish preparing the mix, you take a moment to glance to her side, only to have her blow some of the powder on your face.

You end up yelling out her name, placing the bowl on the kitchen counter and chasing after her with the near-empty pancake mix box in hand.
