Dean POV

Dean woke up and all he could remember was hearing the door slamming. It did not matter how hard he thought, the memories would no come back. This made him wonder if he wanted to remember. He decided that if it was important someone would inform him of what had occurred. Slowly he sat up in the bed and looked around the dark room. This was the second he noticed that he was not at home, but rather in a place that radiated safety as strange as that sounds.

Finally, his eyes land on the figure beside himself. He should be scared, given his past, but again that feeling of safety consumed his being. Sighing, he laid back down deciding that if nothing was going to cause him harm, he wanted to relish in the security that was surrounding him. Without thinking about what could happen, he rolled closer to the person in the bed with him. He could feel the heat the other person radiated better now and couldn't help but realize that they are the reason he felt better. Just as he was about to move even closer, the person stirred and rolled over, now facing him.

To say Dean was shocked, was a slight understatement. He knew he felt safe with Castiel, but for him to be the reason that Dean felt the way he did, was a bit shocking. However, instead of overthinking, he decided to just accept it. He could not deny that he did have some kind of feelings for the boy, but fear was a real thing, unfortunately. So, instead of moving closer to the boy, he stayed right where he was and studied the features of the boy sleeping next to him. He thinks back to the first time meeting him. The intenseness of his blue eyes, his slightly tanned skin, and his messy hair all over the place. Now, looking back to the moment, Dean realizes the hidden tenseness in his being. Looking at Castiel right now, Dean feels like he is seeing him for the first time. There is to worry behind crystal blue eyes, no tense shoulders, and no uneasiness in his being, just Castiel. He looked younger, and Dean can't but tip-toe closer to the edge while laying there staring at the beauty in front of him.

Dean continued to stare at the boy, but it seemed the sleeping boy had other plans. Dean felt himself stiffen as Castiel moved closer to him. He fought with himself not to move. He just wanted to feel the other boy closer. Closer than he let anyone else. Dean wanted Castiel and that was all there was to it. A body being pressed into himself brought Dean out of his thought. He thought that he would shy away from the contact like he normally did, but if anything, he found himself leaning into the touch. He never realized that this is what he craved. Affection that did not come with a cost. A soft touch that did not carry a hidden meaning or followed by a violent hand.

Castiel POV

Castiel woke up to the feeling of someone moving closer to him. The presence felt familiar and safe. Wanting to know who it was, he turned around. He kept his eyes closed, however, wanting the other person to think he was still asleep. Slowly he opened his eyes, but just enough to see who it was. What he did not expect was to see Dean Winchester staring at him with such adoration on his face. He had never had someone look at him with such a soft look in their eyes. It gave him a warm feeling in his chest. One that he wanted to feel all the time. Finally, he decided that he wanted to be closer to Dean. Closer than he had ever been with anyone else. So, he took the opportunity and moved closer to Dean. Close enough to feel his body pressed against Dean's. It made his heart hurt to feel how small the boy is, but he could not help but feel better now that their bodies had no room to spare. What Castiel did not expect, however, was for Dean to lean into him as well. He had never had someone who wanted to touch him unless it was for a punishment. This little action made Castiel's heart swell. He was getting what he had always craved. To be close to someone without fear. To be near someone who kept would keep him warm, but not just physically. He wanted someone who could melt the ice that layered his insides. And to his surprise, it just so happened to be the boy pressed against him. And to be honest, Castiel could not be happier.

Short chapter, but I enjoyed writing this chapter. It was less angsty than the other chapters in my opinion. To be really honest, I am basically reading this book as I write it. I never plan what I am going to right before I actually write. This book is just writing itself and I hope you all enjoy it!

Thank you for reading so far!!!
