Cas POV

Things went to shit faster than Castiel could form a coherent thought. Everything from the loud bang of the door, the immediate tension he felt from the boy beside him, and the memories it was all just too much. He felt the need to run, but he could not get himself to move other than to bring his knees to his chest. He could see Dean moving closer, but he wasn't able to process anything that was happening. It was all too much. He could feel his body shaking and tears filling his eyes. The air that was once filling his lungs not felt as though it was blocked. Everything was too close, too loud, too fast, but at the same time, he felt as though he was underwater. The noise in the room was muffled, his skin numbed, his thoughts murky. Castiel could not understand what was happening. This had happened before, back in that house, but it had not happened in so long he thought they were over. He thought it was all over. Unable to handle much more, he closed his eyes and just prayed for the end of something to come.

Dean POV

Dean did not like loud noises. He had learned early on that loud noises meant bad things were coming his way. The slamming of a door was one of the main things that signaled those terrible events. So the slamming of a door, in a place where he believed he was somewhat safe, was not good for his fragile state of mind. The second the noise rang through the house, his mind took him back to that cold basement he spent so much time in. He moved his tense body closer to Castiel scared of what would happen if John saw the blue-eyed boy beside him. Dean could not let anything happen to Cas. He could not deal with the guilt of him getting hurt too. The thought caused tears to form in Dean's eyes. He moved even closer to the paralyzed boy next to him trying to shield him from the eyes of the monster he called his father. He could not see properly due to the tears in his eyes, but he could see a large figure moving toward them. No...no...no, he can't be here he thought. He could not handle another round of anything.

"Please no, not again." Dean pleaded while closing his eyes and wrapping his arms around himself hoping to avoid whatever was coming. He just wanted it all end, whatever it was. " Please..."

Bobby POV

All hell broke loose the second Sam and Gabriel walked into the house. Bobby knew that neither of the boys had meant to cause the commotion, but it was still happening. He was just making his way into the living room to ask the two boys if they were hungry just as he saw the door open. He felt his gut drop as the two boys closed the door harshly. Immediately, all three of them turned to the two boys on the couch. Not wanting the two youngsters to see their older in the state they were in, Bobby took immediate action to get the two boys out of the room. He knew Dean and Castiel were in their own hell at the moment, but he knew later they would be pissed if he did not take care of their siblings first. While in the process of moving the two he called Ellen. She was an old friend of his that lived nearby and would know what to do in this situation.

Once he had Sam and Gabriel out of the room, Bobby came back to see both of the boys looking absolutely terrified. Castiel had curled up on himself and was breathing heavily with tears running down his cheeks. Castiel had never been a huge person, but he was not small either. At that moment, however, the boy looked so small and vulnerable Bobby could feel his heart-shattering more than it was before. To see the boy he had tried to help over the past year or so break down so drastically was something he wished would never happen.

Dean was a whole other story. It was obvious he was somewhere else mentally. He had moved into a position between Cas and anyone who could come near him. His frail body was obviously not strong enough to fend off any danger that came towards the two, but he seemed to be determined that whatever was coming would not hurt his friend. Dean's eyes were filled with tears, but they did not hide the absolute fear that was shown in them.

Slowly, Bobby made his way toward the two cowering boys. He almost stopped when he heard Dean's pathetic plea. He could feel his chest constricting when he saw the way the battered kid wrapped his thin arms around himself as if it would protect him from the world. But instead, he replaced Dean's arms with his own. He could feel every rib, vertebrae threw the small boys shirt. He could feel the boy try and pull away as sobs began to wrack his body. Bobby did not let go though. Even when Dean began to beg to be let go, Bobby did not loosen his grip. He simply pulled the boy closer to his chest and tried to bring him back to reality. He kept his hand still not wanting to trigger any memories of before and whispered gently in Dean's ear.

Bobby was so caught up in attempting to calm the boy in his arms, he did not even see, or hear, Ellen come in to take care of the other upset boy. Bobby felt guilty that he was unable to take care of both of them at the same time, but he was only one person and could not help both. Seeing Ellen with a calmer looking Castiel definitely helped to ease that guilt, however. He looked over and looked at Ellen. She had pulled Castiel into her lap and wrapped her arms around him.

It did not take long before the two boys passed out from the stress and just pure exhaustion. Bobby was looking down at the sleeping teen in his arms wondering what to do with the boy. He did not want to put him in a room only for him to panic when he did not know where he was. But he knew he could not just sit on the floor with him for the next few hours. He looked over at Castiel who was sleeping with his head against Ellen's chest. It was obvious that he was getting the motherly comfort he had craved for so many years. His shirt sleeves had rode up showing the horrible burn scar on his arm. For this to be all he ever wanted made Bobby's heart even more than it was before.

"Let's put them in the guest room. It has a king size bed." Bobby said to Ellen who was deep in thought.

Unsurprisingly, the two were able to lift the two teens without help due to them both being underweight. Dean had not had access to food and getting Castiel to eat was a battle Bobby was losing . He would constantly try to force feed the kid, but he would always somehow weasel his way out of it claiming that it made him feel like he needed to do something for it.

Once the two were laying on the bed, Dean and Castiel made their way to the middle and faced each other. They were not close enough to be considered cuddling, but close enough to feel the warmth of the other. Bobby stood beside Ellen and looked at the two boys with her. They both seemed to be on the same page when it came to the two. They both had a burning determination to help the teens even if it seemed almost impossible.

I hope you all enjoy this chapter. I, for one, enjoyed writing this chapter. It was nice to get out some of my own feelings I have from time to time. I apologize if the beginning is inaccurate. I just wrote how I feel during a panic attack or whatever it is.

Thank you for reading this far. I really appreciate the support. I never imagined this book getting over 100 reads (I like to keep my standards low). Please feel free to comment in areas where I do not make sense. Again thank you for reading!!!!
