It had been a long night on March 27, 2010, the New Directions had just finished performing at Regionals when Quinn Fabray went into labor. Everyone had arrived at the hospital in support of Quinn as they all waited nervously in the waiting room, all but Mercedes and Puck who Quinn had requested in the room with her when her daughter was born. Quinn was in a lot of pain since she had arrived when she was already nine centimeters dilated & was screaming in pain. "Ooh, you suck! You suck! You suck! You suck!" Quinn screamed at Puck who cringed at Quinn yelling at him. "Come on," Mercedes encouraged as Quinn continued to push. "Let me go! Let me go! No! No! No! No!" Quinn screamed wanting this to be over. "Okay, she's crowning!" the nurse said. "Push, baby," Judy, Quinn's Mom said. "Come on, Quinn, push," Mercedes also encouraged as Quinn finally pushed and out came a beautiful baby girl as Quinn could hear her cry.
"Congratulations, it's a girl," the nurse told Quinn who teared up. She had done it. The baby was finally here. After everything she had went through that year it was over. As the doctors got the baby wrapped up in blankets and handed her to Quinn. "Hi there," Quinn smiled down at the newborn who squirmed in her arms. "Wow...she looks like you," Puck said emotionally as Quinn smiled at him. "Thank you for being here," Quinn said. "I'm glad...with all the screaming you just did at me I wasn't too sure," Puck said. "Sorry," Quin whispered. "It's okay," he told her seriously. "Okay we need to take her to the nursery. Do you have a name?" the doctor asked. "Beth," Puck told them. "Beth. Alright we'll put that down," the doctor said as they took the baby.
Quinn rested for a bit as Puck and Mercedes left to join the other members of the New Directions back at the theatre which left Quinn and her mother alone in the hospital room when Quinn woke up. "You did amazing Quinnie," Judy told Quinn seriously. "Thanks mom," Quinn said "It was a lot harder than I thought it would be," she admitted. "I know," Judy said as she stroked Quinn's hair. "Have you given any thought to my offer?" Judy asked Quinn as the blonde sighed. Shortly before Quinn had gone into labor her mother had offered to turn the guest room into a nursery where Quinn could take care of Beth. "I have...I just don't want to overwhelm you," Quinn told her mom seriously. Judy shook her head "It wouldn't be. I would love a chance to help you raise my granddaughter. That is unless you found a family for her. I wouldn't want to disrupt that," Judy said as Quinn shook her head. "I haven't," Quinn said honestly. "Then it's settled. If you want to keep her, we're bringing her home," Judy told Quinn who knew she had a lot to consider.
Quinn pondered what she was going to do as she watched Beth sleep in the nursery window. She couldn't help but feel such a deep connection to the child she had carried for nine months. Puck approached her as she pondered whether or not to keep Beth. "Hey," Puck said as Quinn turned around. "Hey," Quinn smiled a bit as she turned back to look at Beth. "I meant what I said before...she really does look like you," Puck said as Quinn gave him a slight smile. "Thanks," Quinn said keeping her eyes on her tiny daughter. "Do you want to keep her?" Puck asked as Quinn sighed. "I don't know," Quinn answered honestly "Do you?"
Puck looked at Beth "I do." Quinn looked back at him with a smile. "My mom told me I could keep her...if I wanted to," Quinn said honestly looking at the baby. "If you want to, I'll be there for you. For both of you," Puck said looking at both Quinn and Beth. "I appreciate it..I do. But I think this is something I'd need to do on my own," Quinn told Puck seriously "I don't want you to give up your whole life for us. You have a lot going for you." "So do you," Puck told Quinn who shrugged. "All I know is if I keep her, I want to give her everything I have. I want to make a better life for us," Quinn said honestly. "And I want be there. As much as I can," Puck said taking Quinn hands "You'll never have to go through this alone. I told you that from the time I gave you my pool cleaning money and I'm going to continue to do so," Puck told Quinn as she hugged him tightly. Puck held onto Quinn, not wanting to let her go.
As they got out of the hug Quinn asked Puck seriously "Did you love me?" "Yes," Puck said as Quinn looked up at him "Especially now." Quinn smiled back at him feeling for the first time in a long time secure. "Did you make your decision?" Judy asked as Quinn nodded. "I'm going to keep her mom. I want to give everything she deserves," Quinn said looking at her baby girl in the window as Judy smiled. "I'm proud of you Quinnie. I know this year has been hard but you're doing the right thing. I know it's not always going to be easy but I'm going to be here for you no matter what," Judy said. "Thanks," Quinn smiled as she felt incredibly secure in her decision. She was going to keep her baby for better or worse.
