Author's Note: Hey guys I wrote and rewrote this chapter a few times I'm not sure if it's my best work but if there's anything you would like to see in the next updates let me know.

January 4th was the first day back for everyone at McKinley and Quinn was actually looking forward to going back to school. As much as she loved spending time with her daughter, the last few days with her mother had become unbearable. With the holidays being over Judy had a few days off and was picky about everything Quinn was doing.

As she walked through the doors Quinn couldn't help but smile feeling like she was back where she belonged. Sam quickly rushed over to her. "Hey," Quinn smiled at him as Sam kissed her. "What was that for?" Quinn asked with a smile. "I just missed you during the break," Sam said honestly as Quinn couldn't help but feel touched. "I missed you too," Quinn smiled at him as Sam handed her a wrapped present. "I bought something for Beth," Sam said as Quinn couldn't help but beam at how thoughtful Sam was. "I'm sure she'll love it. Whatever it is," Quinn said honestly as Sam grinned at her. "I really hope so," Sam said as Quinn put it in her bag as Sam got out another present which was a lot smaller but wrapped. "This is for you," Sam said as Quinn looked stunned. "You didn't have to get me anything," Quinn said, shaking her head. "I wanted to," Sam said honestly as Quinn opened the gift to find a heart shaped locket necklace which she opened up to see that Sam had put a picture of the two of them with Beth inside. "This is beautiful," Quinn said emotionally tearing up at the present. "I'm glad you love it," Sam smiled as Quinn nodded as she put the necklace on. "It looks even better on you," Sam said as Quinn chuckled grateful for his support as the two headed to the choir room for the morning Glee Club practice.

Mr. Schue had written 'Welcome Back New Directions' on the board as the New Directions seemed jazzed about their win at Sectionals. "Guys, I'm so proud of you for all the hard work you did at Sectionals but now that we're back we're going to have to work hard on our setlist for Regionals," Mr. Schue said as Rachel nodded eagerly as her hand shot up. "Yes Rachel?" Mr. Schue called on her. "Mr. Schue, while I think it was great that you gave some of the less used members a chance to shine at Sectionals, I think for Regionals we really need to bring it, unless we want to lose again like last time," Rachel said seriously as Santana rolled her eyes. "Oh please, the reason we lost was because of you performing in every single song dwarf," Santana said annoyed. "That's not true!" Rachel huffed. "Guys, this is no time for fighting!" Mr. Schue exclaimed as Santana just smirked at Rachel indicating that she won. "I agree with Rachel, we need to work hard and bring it at Regionals, Rachel, did you have any ideas?" Mr. Schue asked as Rachel smirked back at Santana. "Actually I do," Rachel said as she got up and stood at the front of the choir room, facing the New Directions. "I think we really need to do something that will set us apart from everyone else. I think we need to perform original songs," Rachel said in a no nonsense tone. Mr. Schue seemed interested in what Rachel had to say. "Original songs...that could really be something special," Mr. Schue said thinking about it. "Or something terrible. What could Berry possibly have to say that we haven't already heard?" Santana shot back. "She kind of has a point. How do we even know our songs would be good," Tina agreed. "We don't. It's a risk," Rachel said honestly. "One not worth taking," Santana said as Rachel glared at her. "I say, we go back to finding songs that have us work together as a group instead of it always being the Rachel Berry show," Santana said as the other New Directions murmured in agreement. "Let's put it to a vote," Mr. Schue said as Rachel tried to look confident. "All those in favor of original songs?" Mr. Schue asked as Rachel's hand quickly shot up. She looked around for support but it seemed like she wasn't going to get any. "And how about working together as a group to find the best songs for us to take Regionals?" Mr. Schue asked as everyone else's hands shot up with Santana smirking at Rachel. Mr. Schue looked at Rachel empathetically but knew that original songs could be a big risk but the question was, would it be a risk that would pay off?

Quinn couldn't help but think Rachel had a point, maybe original songs really would have set them apart. As the bell rang Quinn went after Rachel. "Hey Rachel, wait up," Quinn called as Rachel turned around seeming confused. "If you're just going to make fun of me for my idea I'd rather not have this conversation," Rachel began as Quinn cut her off. "I think you might have a point about doing original songs, it could really set us apart," Quinn said as Rachel looked at her astounded that she chose to finally back her up. "Why didn't you back me up when I needed you?" Rachel asked upset. "Because we do need to decide things as a group but I do think if we can write a great song that showcases all the talent the club has to offer, it could give us the win," Quinn said honestly. "We?" Rachel asked confused. "Yeah...I was thinking we could work together on writing a song. We haven't always seen eye to eye but if we can put aside our differences and work together, I really think it could be something special," Quinn said honestly as Rachel seemed to think about it. "Okay. I'm in," Rachel smiled. "Great," Quinn smiled back at Rachel looking forward to quite possibly changing the fate of the New Directions by working with the one person everyone would least expect her to.
