Author's Note: Happy Thanksgiving! It's so fitting that the chapter I've been working on is the Thanksgiving chapter. I hope you all enjoy this update :)
The wedding had been a huge success, shortly after the wedding it was Thanksgiving break. Quinn was glad for the few days off to really spend some time with her growing daughter. Beth was now about 8 months old and was eating solid foods and would be able to take part in the festivities this Thanksgiving which Quinn was looking forward to. Quinn also was glad to be back with her mom for this Thanksgiving. Quinn had just been kicked out around this time last year. She was looking forward to Beth's first Thanksgiving going a lot more smoothly.
Judy spent most of her time in the kitchen Thursday. Quinn kept Beth entertained by singing to her. "Pick the squash and other greens. It is harvest time you see. Come and share a feast with me. Bring your family out to play, We'll call this Thanksgiving Day," Quinn sang to Beth to the tune of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" which Beth seemed to enjoy and coo at. Just then there was a knock at the door. "I wonder who that could be?" Quinn said seeming surprised as she opened the door to see Sam.
"Happy Thanksgiving," Sam smiled a bit as Quinn hugged him. "What are you doing here?" Quinn grinned. "Well I got Beth a little something. I wanted to stop by and give it to her," Sam smiled a bit. "Come in," Quinn smiled a bit as Sam entered the Fabray house. Beth squealed with excitement when she saw Sam. "Hey Beth," Sam smiled a bit as Beth extended her arms to him wanting to be picked up. Sam chuckled as he lifted Beth up who seemed to coo and smile. "I think she missed you," Quinn smiled a bit. "Good because I missed her too. I missed both of you," Sam said honestly as Quinn smiled back at him. "I got you a little something," Sam smiled to Beth as he handed her a stuffed animal which was a turkey with a little pilgrim hat. "I figured it'd be appropriate for Thanksgiving," Sam said as Beth hugged the turkey. "That was really sweet of you," Quinn said in awe. "It's the least I could do," Sam shrugged as Beth began to wiggle, wanting to get down as Sam put her down.
"So what are your plans for today?" Quinn asked. "We have family coming in from Tennessee for Thanksgiving. They were kind of excited to see Lima," Sam said as Quinn smiled. "That's good," Quinn said. "How about you?" Sam asked. "My sister and her husband are coming into town. They live out by Columbus," Quinn said as Sam nodded, seeming happy for Quinn. "Well I hope you guys have a great Thanksgiving," Sam said with a half smile. "You too," Quinn smiled back as they kissed before Sam left for his Thanksgiving festivities back at the Evans'.
Frannie and her husband Christian soon arrived at the Fabray household. "Happy Thanksgiving," Frannie smiled as she carried in the pumpkin pie she had made. "Happy Thanksgiving," Quinn smiled back as Frannie hugged her younger sister. Quinn then noticed Beth was once again getting into a place where she didn't belong. "No no baby," Quinn said picking her up as Beth frowned. "Wow she's gotten so big," Frannie said in awe of Beth as she waved to her. "Yeah she's 8 months now," Quinn said as Beth waved back to Frannie and began to wiggle in Quinn's arms. "Someone wants to get back down," Frannie chuckled. "If I put her down she'll be crawling all over the place," Quinn said shaking her head as she carried Beth to her high chair and put some cut up vegetables in front of her as Beth ate them.
"Oh boy she's at that stage huh?" Christian said shaking his head. "Yeah...we had to baby proof the house now that she's getting into things," Quinn said honestly as Judy nodded. "These next few months are going to be the hardest. Keeping after a toddler isn't as easy as it seems," Judy said. "I'll say," Quinn chuckled a bit as they all sat down to eat together having a grand Thanksgiving meal. As they finished Quinn cleaned off Beth who had the food on her face as she once again seemed restless. "I'm almost done," Quinn told Beth who frowned crying a bit, wanting to go. "Beth come on now," Quinn frowned as she finished cleaning Beth off as she put Beth down. Beth quickly began to crawl off playing with her new stuffed turkey.
"That is so cute did you guys buy it for her?" Frannie asked as Quinn shook her head. "My boyfriend Sam actually stopped by and gave it to her," Quinn said honestly. "Wow. You guys must be getting serious," Frannie said seeming surprised that a high school guy would do something like that for a baby. Quinn nodded. "He's been great to us," Quinn said honestly "He never complains if he has to come over here when I need to take care of Beth and he's really good with her." "And he goes to our church which I like," Judy added. "So you know him and his family well mom?" Frannie asked as Judy nodded. "They moved here a few months ago but the Evans' are a wonderful family. His mom, Mary and I are on the church board. She raised her boy right. He's the perfect gentlemen to Quinnie," Judy said as Quinn smiled a bit, glad to for once have her family's approval. "Well you deserve it. After everything you went through last year," Frannie said as Judy nodded. "Thank you," Quinn smiled a bit, thankful for this year going smoothly and for Beth having a wonderful first Thanksgiving that she hoped Beth would remember for all the right reasons.
