"Dad," Ade pronounced stiffly as he entered Amos' room with a grim look on his face.
Upon seeing his son visit him, Amos regarded him a blank face as the voices started discussing yet again. 'Watch out,' they said. 'Look at him. The kid's looking suspicious.' Amos pursed his lips and observed Ade's hesitancy in his eyes as though he was about to confront him.
"I found a startling discovery," Ade spoke, standing before the door and not approaching his father, who sat on his couch before folders and papers that were mounted on the coffee table. "The incident of [F/n] falling unconscious was due to the mistake made by the dishwasher. He had experimented with Jeha's seeds to wash the dishes properly, and he claims that it must have not been washed properly; hence, it acted like a sleeping ingredient when [F/n] drank from it."
'Everyone bought the lie, fools!' The voices cheered, easing Amos' worries as he fiddled with the collar of his suit. Ever since the mistake that Amos made of not killing [F/n], he knew that was going to be hunted down as the suspect, so he had threatened the lowest person in the kitchen to catch his lie.
"I-I see," Amos stuttered, looking out into the window and remembering Chaz and [F/n] standing outside of the gate. The black-haired male must have escorted her back in the Palace. "Required punishment must be inflicted upon him for causing indirect harm to our precious future president."
Ade nodded his head, keeping his eyes on his father. "Secretary Kings escorted the dishwasher to the Supreme Court of Extreme for judgement and punishment," he informed, reaching out to the knob and twisting it as he was prepared to leave. "That's all." As he left the room, Ade couldn't help but feel like he had accused the wrong suspect that contaminated [F/n]'s drink, but as long as he's doing it for [F/n], he can kill his guilt.
Amos had testified that [F/n] danced with the butcher knife in her hand until she was exhausted, and fell asleep in the tub. According to the old man, Ramaia must have brought the knife in the room. He went to see [F/n] and was almost stabbed when she hurled it at him, provoking him to run out of his place.
The story seemed to fit well, but something was just not right...
As Ade was about to leave, he heard voices from [F/n]'s room, which was at the opposite end of the corridor, across Amos' room. Alarmed, he stalked closer to the door. [F/n] haven't returned yet since yesterday, so no one is supposed to be in the room.
"Do I really have to go?" Complained a feminine voice.
"Of course, it's a must! You're going to be president anytime soon. When? I don't know, but dad's discussing it with the cabinet secretaries. Before that though, you are required to present yourself in the Fortress of Congress. And after that, the chief justice may want to see you too, so expect to see him in the Supreme Court of Extreme."
"I'm not even president yet, but I'm already getting busy..."
Ade heard Abbey giggling. "I know, but trust me, my brother and I are here to help you."
"Thank you."
Ade listened closely. After a brief moment, his heart raced fast as he finally deduced that it was Abbey and [F/n] talking. Ade smiled, relieved that [F/n] returned as she had promised. But it had been a day since she left, which almost led him to believe that Chaz might have done something to her, so he had gone and waited by the bridge, but she never came.
To reassure that it is her, he knocked on the door, which was later answered by a quick "come in!". Gladly, he entered and closed the door softly, raising his eyes to see [F/n] looking at herself in the mirror as Abbey combed her [h/c] hair.
