Halfway through the bridge, [F/n] had second thoughts about this sudden decision to follow what a reflection had told her. But as she recalled again, she did plunge in the water because the reflection pulled her in. Or was she being delusional? To check if she was still in touch with reality, she examined her image in the stream that ran peacefully below the bridge.

Although distorted, Annette was still acting as her reflection. [F/n] pursed her lips as she furrowed her brow. "How do you know my mom?" She questioned, as that is what Annette had implied from their recent conversation.

"I'm waiting on the Other Side," was all that Annette had said as she mirrored [F/n]'s frustrated countenance.

[F/n] looked over her shoulder. She stared at the forest for a while before proceeding to walk. Wearing a casual attire paired with slippers, [F/n] was very much comfortable as she began to ponder what to expect on the other side. Was her mother really waiting there? Ever since she was younger, her mother's name was neither mentioned nor acknowledged; it was as if everyone had forgotten who the woman is. When [F/n] had asked Zacharias about her mother, he looked genuinely confused when he tried to remember his son's former lover.

Little memories played in her head involving her insecurities as a child without a mother, but [F/n] wasn't that devastated at the loss of a maternal figure, for she never met her since birth. However, that didn't stop her from ever wondering who her mother is, and what impact she could have brought on [F/n]'s life. The bridge was soon at its end, and [F/n] stepped off from its wooden structure. It wasn't the end of the road though, for a green carpet welcomed her.

A cold shiver of excitement traveled up her spine. As she raised her eyes, she was stunned that the carpet extended further so; far ahead, she could see a mansion. It looked to be very old as vines and flowers crept up its walls, but it was too far for her to recognize its details properly. Trees surrounded her, much like the previous forest that she had been from. Up in the sky, she could see the glaring sun.

Curiosity began to envelop her as she felt giddy about this odd place that she had discovered. Was someone holding a spectacular party that was crazily themed? If she was invited, then she'd gladly follow the green carpet and see where it takes her. A grin enveloped her lips as she trekked forward.

Then suddenly, a figure emerged from the trees and blocked her path, making her almost bump into him. He was tall, with a black top hat above his shaggy black hair, mischievous black eyes behind his glasses, and a black formal suit cladding his frame. His attire signified status, but he didn't seem to carry an air of importance around him as he grinned at her, pushing up his glasses with a black gloved hand.

"A visitor from the Other Side!" He cheered as he eagerly shook her hand with both of his.

Her shoulders tensed at the suddenness of his welcome. "Thanks," she appreciated his acknowledgment, wearing an awkward smile.

"So, where do you wish to go?" He asked as he stepped aside and spread his arms wide with a cheery facade. "To the North, where the president goes forth?" Exaggeratedly, he gestured to the North. "To the East, where the congress holds a feast?" With a flick of his wrist, he pointed to the mansion ahead, directing [F/n]'s gaze to it. "To the South, where the chief justice judges a lying mouth?" To the South, he motioned. "Or to the West," he uttered, waving his arms around him as he turned in circles, "where it is the best among the rest!"

His rhyming words sounded so pleasing to her ears that she too copied his grin. Her eyes sparkled as she waited for more, but she soon realized that he finally finished his speech as he anticipated her response with expectant eyes. "I don't know what the hell you just said but I like you already," she admitted and giggled.
