Using a Slur
A reader has reached out to me regarding a word I have written here before, so my readers old and new, I'm pleading with you please bring this to my attention.
When you see a slur/offensive word that I have written on the story, especially carelessly, please comment #editplease so I can see it immediately and edit/remove the word.
So let me explain myself. English is my second language, and when I was writing this piece, I was 15-17. I first published it in Quotev and I didn't know a few words were used as a slur, and I'm not proud to say I have included one of those words in my story, the r word.
It was somewhere on this book that I have carelessly written the r word on Sarah's speech and it gathered comments pointing out that it was a slur. I deleted the paragraph, but I didn't know there's another or maybe a few around this story, so I'd like you to please point it out and comment #editplease.
I'd like to apologize for the carelessness I have displayed.
The Cousin Crushing on You
And another one, I'd like to edit out the part of the story where some characters is the reader's cousins, which is... icky. More than icky. In my teenage angsty brain back then, I thought of writing a disturbing piece and that included incest. I wanted to explore the disturbing elements of some genres, but now that I'm sober from teenage hormones, I'll have to edit it out, make it comfortable for you to ship reader and [insert character]. And make it more comfortable to read in general, but please keep it mind this is under #yandere, so disturbing themes will be disturbing.
Please comment #ewno on paragraphs where Reader is mentioned as a cousin of [insert character], and where it is mentioned how Reader is connected to the families of the characters.
I'll remove the cousin part, so please help me out on this too. In paragraphs where the cousin part is mentioned or reader's family ties is explained, please comment #ewdont. By removing the cousin ties, it means undermining a sub plot where [SPOILER AHEAD] {reader's mom is Amos' sister and a cousin of the Jamcharlys. What I'll do is that reader's mom becomes a close friend of Amos, or a family friend of the Bridgers and the Jamcharlys, so that her death would still somehow bring an impact when Reader returns to her motherland}.
