Phil's POV
I woke up the next morning with the sun beaming brightly down onto my face.
I smiled, walking over to my bathroom to get ready for the day.I didn't think Dan would be greeting me in the kitchen this morning, so I went to his bedroom to see him.
Opening the door, I saw him lying on his back with his eyes open, staring at the ceiling.
What was going on in his mind?
"Dan... did you get any sleep last night?"
His head turned to me, surprised at my presence, "...Yeah - I just woke up."
"Alright."
I walked over and knelt down on the floor next to his bed, my eyes level with his.
"How are you feeling today?""I-i'm fine. I'm doing good. Look, I don't have anger issues or anything - if that's what you're thinking. I just- I don't know. I'm sorry." He closed his eyes momentarily.
"Can I kiss you, Phil?"
"What?"
"Don't say anything. I just want to kiss you."
I nodded, moving closer to him, as he rolled over slightly to hold my face in his hands.
They were shaking.
But so gentle.
Then his lips were on mine.
Passionate, sad, emotional.
When he moved away, he wouldn't meet my eyes.
He whispered, "Thank you."
