Phil's POV
"Dan, are you alright on your own if I go out for a bit? I just need to get some groceries and then I'll be back."
"How long will you be?" Dan was still lying in his bed, and he didn't look like he'd be getting up anytime soon.
"Just an hour. I'll be as quick as I can."
"I'll be okay."
"Are you sure? I don't have to go if you'd prefer me to stay, I-"
"No it's fine - go. I'm okay."
He turned to look at me, his dark eyes meeting mine, "Really."I ruffled my hand through his curls as I stood up, and quietly closed the door behind me.

It was so nice outside! In London, a sunny day was so rare you basically had to treasure it like it was a precious artifact.
Headphones played upbeat music in my ears as I stepped out of the taxi with my shopping.
I got Dan some special low calorie meals to help to ease him into eating normally.
It made me sad having to start from the beginning again, but I guess in someways he had never gotten past square one.
He was eating more, sure - but was he keeping any of it down?
I didn't know.
I placed my key in the lock to the apartment, and staggered inside with the bags, placing them down on the floor as soon as I had the chance.
"I'm back!" I called, taking my jacket off and hanging it on a hook.
My shoes made light steps towards Dan's room, opening the door.
His bed was empty.
"Dan! I'm back!"
The bathroom door stood ajar, and I moved towards it.
"Dan?"
I placed my fingers on the handle and opened it further.
My blood ran cold.
My grip tightened on the handle, my knuckles turning white.
I felt sick.
I could feel my heart beating in my throat.
"No no no!" I cried, running to him.
My hands shook as I dialed the emergency services.
My voice wavered as I called for an ambulance.
Endless tears streamed down my face and rippled the surface of the crimson water.
"Can you tell us what happened, please?"
"M-my friend, he-"
My words were dry in my throat.
"He's-"
"He slit his wrists in the bathtub."
