Mary Ellen

I sat on the edge of the tub and waited for him to leave, I couldn't stand to look at him or to hear his voice.

I heard him lean against the door. "I'm about five seconds away from calling security," I said.

"I watched you sleep earlier and you were crying, it was the most painful thing to watch."

"So you decide that accusing me of lying was the best approach?"

"I know that baby is mine. I just tried to make one part of this not to be my fault." He said.

"I wish it was Preston's," I said, but the words hurt. "Please just go away, I'm not doing so well, and you're making it worse. I want this baby, and I need to take care of our son and my health right now. I'm having a difficult pregnancy, and you're doing more harm than good. If you won't do it for me, then do it for this baby." Something is seriously wrong with him to still be here right now.

"I just want to hold you. I'm so sorry, Mary Ellen. Please just let me see you're okay."

"I'm not okay, Grayson, and I won't be until you leave."

"I love you, and I do want this baby." His voice cracked.

"Yet, you stayed with her after we came for you, that's not love for me, Grayson. That's love for yourself."

I heard him get up. "You're right, " he paused. "I'm being selfish, just like I was the night you finally gave yourself to me again. I'll be going now. I'll stop by tomorrow once we've had some rest."

I'll be gone tomorrow.

I heard footsteps and he left.

I was up early and our things were quickly loaded to be shipped out to L.A.

Our flight took off, and I just seem to be growing weaker by the day. On this particular day, I'm the weakest. I try so hard to keep up appearances in front of Jacob, but it's nearly impossible.

I went to bed as soon as I got home, and went to the doctor the next day

"You've lost weight because you can't get the proper nutrition you need. Hyperemesis Gravidarum, or HG, can be debilitating and a risk for both you and your baby. I need you to call me if you can't keep fluids down, because you'll need an IV to hydrate. I'm prescribing you a new prenatal vitamin, and somehow you have to keep your stress levels down." Preston was kind enough to drive me, and insisted on talking to the doctor.

"I'll be sure she gets plenty of rest." He squeezed my hand.

No, we are not back together, and I'm not leading him on. This was the friendship we had at one time. Things are different now, but I trust him.

We arrived home, and he was teasing me about my boobs swelling.

"Let's get you to bed." I laughed, when he picked me up and carried me toward the steps.

True to his word Preston, cared for me until I began gaining strength. I had a good talk with him and explained his kindness is appreciated, but we can never try again.

Finally, at around 11 weeks into my pregnancy, I started feeling better. I had lost 10 pounds during my struggle through HG, and now I'm eating more and I have a lot more energy.

I've heard my baby's heartbeat, and I'm starting to feel a tad normal again. I did some promoting for the new season of Warrior, promo shoots for both the show and the movie, t.v. interviews, and a concert here in L.A.

My PR agent, Cindy, is preparing for the news of my pregnancy to break.

I was walking out the door to catch a flight to New York for an appearance and performance on a national morning show, when I got a text from Preston reminding me to take my vitamins. He's driving me insane.

Jacob already left for school, and Wendy will be here with him while I'm gone for two nights. I try to keep my travel to a minimum during the school year since Jacob can't travel with me.

Upon my arrival, I had the rest of the day to do whatever I wanted. I have a crazy early call time tomorrow, so I won't be out for long.

I shopped, met my Aunt for lunch, then met with my old college friends for dinner.

Chelsey is a performing arts teacher, Donavan plays the cello for the New York Symphony, Willow is a stay at home mother, and Renee is an actress.

It's not unusual for me not to drink alcohol, so nobody questioned me when I ordered a water. We were laughing over old times, when a familiar face walked into the restaurant with two other men.

The sight of him almost knocked the wind out of me. He locked eyes with me, and he actually smiled and gave me a nod, before walking with the hostess to his table.

I shook it off not wanting to explain anything to my friends, their questions would go on all night.

One thing about pregnancy that irritated me with Jacob, was how often I have to pee. That happens to once again be an issue, but before I excused myself, our waitress interrupted.

"Excuse me, ma'am? I have a message for you." The waitress handed me a small piece of paper.

My friends all shared looks, but I slipped the paper into my purse and excused myself to the bathroom.

"I'm not scared anymore. Meet me in 30 minutes. The waitress will point you in the right direction."

After taking care of business, I visited with my friends a short time before motioning the waitress. "He's just through those doors."

I walked in the direction the waitress was pointing, and slowly walked through the doors.
